Just had a genius idea.

What if we assigned each perk a point value, say 1 to 5. Dev assigned, community voted, idk yet. The basic idea being each player can use say 13 points in a build. So obviously high rank meta SURV perks like DS, unbreakable, DH, etc would be 5 points.

Also, we remove the 4 perk limit. Unlimited perks, long as you only have 13 points worth.

I think this would really make players get more creative in their builds, play to their strengths, plan more, make a little more balance (A.K.A. prevent OP perk builds) and add some MUCH NEEDED zesty variety to DBD.

This way you can be a mainstream builder, or be a jack of all trades, or maybe run a ridiculous 13 perks 1-point build.

Teams would really have to play AS A TEAM... instead of having a 4 man SWF running DS DH Unbreakable Adrenaline. I dunno know about you guys, but IMO going against that as a Killer gets real old real real quick.

I know, it would fundamentally change the game. But at what point are we going to say enough is enough, that this Superpower arms race of releasing stronger and stronger SURV and KLR perks with every new chapter is ridiculous, and that it is fundamentally unhealthy for the game?

DBD is the funnest game I've ever personally played. And I want to see it grow!

We have got to fix the toxicity, the imbalance, the super boring every-match-feels-the-same meta if we ever hope to attract new and casual players.

Edit: BTDubs BHVR I have a BS in Comp Sci. A lot of the suggestions I've made on here have been implemented over the years. You should hire me.

    Why not just balance the perks instead of adding another layer too that itself also needs to be balanced?

    We should keep the game simple for the Developer to balance if we want balance.

    I hope you see the problem?

    Yeah I get what you're saying, but how long has your perspective been the go-to method? And how much has that actually worked to balance the game?

    Edit: And the changes I'm suggesting reeeeally wouldn't be that hard to implement. A little point-assigning voting, remove the 4 perk limit, voila

    How long have you been playing?

    Because things have been WAY WORSE and the Devs have brought the game under control by making it simple.

    Yeah, I would say you OUGHT to see why certain changes was made to the game and why the game dont need another system to determine perk value based on votes to screw with the model even further. I see you also suggesting to be hired, Good luck with that.

    Sounds ok, dont really think it will happen tho. I like the idea of running my main build which isnt really that strong and being able to add like small game, or having bond not take as much room as DS

    Honestly this idea sound amazing, but the I dont think its likely. It would create so many opportunities and it would get rid of meta builds for sure. I think someone might even find a use for vigil with this idea. However, as it pains me to say, the devs defo wont do it. They have so much to do and their priorities just arent straight, sadly meaning that fixing their priorities isnt a priority. I personally think the best move for them would be hiring more devs but im no businessman.


    Love the idea, sadly I doubt it will happen.
