Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

The problem with Until Dawn...Maybe.

A lot of people (including me) are already guessing the next chapter is Until Dawn since it makes sense. Forest, weird looking thing, wendigo-ish? sounds.

But I immediately thought UD is owned and exclusive to PlayStation so there it gets complicated. It really comes down to if Sony will let BHVR use UD. I don’t know if Sony can be a little stingy with their IP either.

Konomi gave them the rights to Silent Hill so anything’s possible.

Technically speaking, Left 4 Dead isn't on PS4 without the usage of Dream

I do wonder...its a stretch, but the same devs who made Until Dawn made Little Hope, which came out about a week ago

since dbd is not limited to one platform and is a collection of popular killers and they dont have to be a slasher its not unthinkable that they would give the rights to use two characters from the game.

At worst nothing happens at best they promote the game when players find out that the killer they like is actually from a very well developed and recent game in the horror category as well as getting profit from selling the license.

I'm pretty sure BHVR can use Wendigos without any sort of license.

They don't originate from Until Dawn. Until Dawn did use them, but they initially came from folklore. BHVR was able to have a semi undead cowboy (Deathslinger) as an original killer for the same reason and didn't need to get licensing from the people behind Red Dead Redemption or anyone else.

Remember when people thought Blight might've been a Werewolf because he screamed/growled for a second in his teaser?

I'm not trying to be a killjoy, but I think it's far, far too early and short to actually gleam anything from it. Things we know

    The killer sounded female.

There was a snowy, wood area.

She had pale skin and claws.

That's all we know. The description does share some themes with Until Dawn, but it's not like the whole "Searching a dangerous place for answers and hope" is a unique theme to Until Dawn. I just don't want people to hype this up like they hyped the Stranger Things livestreams.

It couldn't 100% be a wendigo and not have a thing to do with Until Dawn.
