I don't know how to play this game anymore
Let's get one thing straight - I'm not the greatest player and I don't own a top tier pc. However, when I bought this game everything was fine, even with high ping which occured sometimes for no apparent reason. I was so lucky that I didn't even face all of those famous lags.
But after the update in october the game kinda died for me. Before it was running great with medium settings and fullscreen - now it barely manages to run with the lowest settings possible. Sometimes fps drop to 1 from 70 (#########?), causing the game to freeze, sometimes it stutters and freezes for no reason. The biggest problem, however, is the slow loading before the camera spin in the start of the trial. It's either I'm waiting by the black screen while people gen rush, or camera spin stutters. While playing killer it's like missing the half of the trial, bc people will rush at least 2 gens (well, high ranks, what do I expect).
I checked and fixed everything I could. Memory is fine, temperatures are fine, connection - everything. Plus, as I mentioned already, the game was running great before this update. After that I can play survivor very poorly and can't play killer at all (did I buy ghostface so that I could get tbagged bc my game freezes? Nah man).
I know what people say about abandoning this game and so on. The thing is, I really love it. I love its' concept, mechanics, characters - i don't wanna abandon it. I'm ready to play with low settings, but when it will be at least playable, like it was before. It's impossible to enjoy the game when the outcome depends not on the skills, but on the amount of freezing and lagging.

I would connect with the people at BHVR about it if you've looked into troubleshooting your computer. PS4 Had major issues and maybe you aren't the only one struggling on pc after the update. Good luck :)!

I think I should (though I think I reported it a few times, guess it didn't progress anywhere). I saw people complaining about the problems after this update, so I hope something will change 😪

Also, I'd like to know if anybody else have something similar right now. It would at least calm me down bc I feel like I'm going crazy with trying to figure out what happened to my game

The game is just poorly optimized and poorly designed. If you don't have a top tier PC, you're just going to have problems running it. The devs don't seem to care as they seem to be valuing quantity over quality and just churning out buggy unoptimized garbage patches.

The only, and I mean only, thing I could think of is if you're using a HDD, then you may need to defrag it to help it run quicker. Asides from that go to the Optimisation section of these forums and post what you can about your issues in as much detail as possible, including your specs. Devs read there frequently even if they don't respond, so you'll either get an answer to your issue or they'll be able to work on and fix said issue in a later update.

Let it be known, do NOT defrag if you have an SSD or M.2. ONLY do that if you have a HDD

Hope it doesn't sound like schadenfreude but as a PS4 player it's nice to see it's not actually smooth sailing across the board for the PC Master Race...you guys probably know but DbD makes our PS4s going into "holy crap I think it's about to frigging explode" overdrive, the fan making more noise than any other game on PS4 to the point where if you sit a little too close while playing it's actually hard to hear in game sounds properly 😆...I knew this but after taking a break recently I'd forgotten that the PS4 makes this hullabaloo even on the loading screen when the GPU shouldn't be getting stressed at all 😀

My temperatures are fine tbh, but those lags, freezing and stuttering? Hell, it will soon make me smash my pc into the wall

I highly recommend downloading a program called razer cortex, I used it when I was running games that my computer could barely keep up with. I have a better pc now but I still use it to this day, it clears space on your RAM and helps streamline the processing in your pc. Ought to help a little

I had problems with the update I emailed the creators of the game every day they would tell me their working on it see you in the fog everyday serval times a day then one Tuesday they fixed it be patient my friend and let them know how you feel they answer back immediately and really work on the problem I was so pissed of I would email them crazy stuff to make them ban me because I love the game so much I cant stop playing until the make me the bugs are crazy but I understand that one update might be perfect for one player and b as d for the next but to say like Behavior would see you in the fog

Bro I thought it was just my ps4 pro that did that it sounds like its about to break with this game on and dont try to send a message or see your friends that's online the playstation act like its ######### and I just sunt my ps4 pro back to sony because one day I was playing this game and my playstation just cut off by itself and would not come back on so playstation fixed it for free I might add then the brand new system sounds like its about to break playing just this game

I contacted them today and got a reply that they will look into it when they can. Idk when will this happen, but I pray for the best.

I've actually freaked my mother out a few times when I've fired up DbD; there's been concern and confusion if there's a storm outside 😄...I'd heard from others is a known thing that DbD sound like a vacuum cleaner though so I just got used to it...a few times in last 3 months DbD made the PS4 randomly do a Playstation version of BSOD at some stage during a multi hour session.
Are us PS4 DbD players basically in some kind of abusive relationship with the game bruh? 😃

yea don't search with the graphic update medium tier computer can't really run it anymore cau'z it's poorly optimized, at least you can play on console....oh wait
