Is this the worst that solo survivor has ever been?

with 90 percent plus of games being RUIN/UNDYING im not even joking outa like 10 games im lucky to escape 2 or 3 of them. im not a great survivor or anything, i mostly play killer and i refuse to use ruin/undying but it think this is stupid in my opinion how this perk hasnt been changed.

i also dont use DS/UNBREAKABLE together, i know thats a crappy combo too so dont winge at me about it.

I wouldn't say it's the worst it's ever been, Ruin Undying does make it a bit repetitive but I've actually seen a pretty big decrease in things like tunnelling and camping recently.

I think this is probably due to them no longer feeling the need to. As killer I don't personally use it. I prefer corrupt/pop personally. I hate relying on hex anything. But I've heard it's incredibly powerful stall. So there is less rush to get people out the game quick.

im solo q exlusive player. Run detective's hunch if you hate ruin undying. If this dosen't help - git gud. If this dosen't help either just accept the fact you're gonna die more because of bad teammates, but not because ruin undying

This. I am a rank 15 survivor at very best if I consider an average player as 10 and 1 as the best like you would imagine the ranking system should work. Yet according to the game I'm mid purples barely ever playing survivor lately.

Dude, I just started my solo life and it has been hell.

I played swf for awhile now, but knew I was boosted. So after a few resets I have played strictly solo. Wanted to see how I really stacked up

I went from rank 17 to 6. I was pretty surprised how ######### solo is.

It is definitely the hardest mode in the game. Harder than killer, definitely harder than any permutation of SWF.

I went from escaping 70% of the time to maybe 15%. Uggghhhh!

I'd say that it was worse with DC penalty off.

It's gotten a bit better since dc penalty is back on but yeah I'd say solo survivor is the hardest role atm. I enjoy it though in red ranks most ppl are somewhat competent and Its usually quite fun

As the game becomes less BS for killers, so does the playstyle of the players.

    Interesting.

When it comes to the issues found in solo queue, there are many contributing factors. Due to the phrasing of the OP's question, we're forced to compare the current state of solo queue to previous patches and meta(s). I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the current meta (Undying + Ruin) when it's half of the equation.

While I completely agree with your stance on the ranking system, I can't deny the strength of newest meta. That's simply the nature of metas. One meta cannibalizes the other, but only if it's stronger than the previous meta. Undying + Ruin is heavily influenced by RNG, but when it functions favorably for the killer, there's no doubt that it's a strong combination.

Been playing since it came out, survivor is unplayable without 4 coordinated friends genrushing the hell out of the killer. I'll say it again, killer is now too overpowered.

That's not my experience at all, i play both roles equally and only ever solo.

I take back what I said, I am now getting stomped by green rank killers because I'm getting matched with grey rank survivors who don't know what generators are.

I brush it off because people exaggerate how bad it is. Many times we finish the match and never even cleanse it as it is quite easy to finish gens with it still up.

Even still there are a couple anti-totem perks you could run or use a map to counter hex's. The counters are there, just no one uses them. Ruin/Undying just isn't that oppressive to me at all and that's even assuming the killer gets lucky with its spawn and it stays up which is the best case scenario when it could be much worse. He's also giving up 2 slots for it.

No problem, there is no limit on how often you can be wrong.

    I'm torn.

I think the people that seem to be exaggerating are experiencing the worst possible outcome. Some people will simply ignore bones/totems (and that's probably the best play). Others spend a damning amount of time cleansing totems, only for Ruin to be saved by Undying time and time again.

Ruin is only as oppressive as the killer's pathing or split pressure. This is why Ruin is typically paired with multiple detection perks. (It's also why Ruin is more effective on killers with higher movement speed(s). If a killer never successfully intervenes in generator repairs, then yes, they might as well have an empty perk slot.

Anyways, I'm sure you know all of this since you've stated that you typically don't bother cleansing it.

Solo is awful right now. Truly ######### tier teammates almost every match.

Really solo queue is just rolling the dice. What map? What killer? What teammates? What perks? What pallet/vault spawns?

I'm really surprised Ace isn't a more popular survivor given the circumstances. You're gambling each and every time.
