Why is there is a disconnect penalty applied when I crash to desktop?
I honestly don't know what else to put here other than just this. Because holy #########, I'm locked out for over an hour, and 30 minutes before that, and 15 before that. I don't DC often. But I have a potato computer that crashes every now and then on certain maps. So what am I supposed to do? DC on those maps? Oh wait, I can't. I just want to play the game. If your systems are intelligent enough to let me send a crash report why the flying ######### do I still get penalized for it?
Are people with bad setups just not allowed to play anymore?
Also yes I am a bit peeved right now. That's why my crash report was a bit snippy. I would just like to be able to actually play the pissing game.

Guilty until proven innocent then? Seems like a system with no drawbacks if you ask me. Guess I just can't play the game anymore!

My laptop isn't even a potato yet in the last two days I get crashes for no reason there and there (usually reworked maps). Poof, ban

People would abuse it non stop to dc without getting penalized. It sucks, but every game with a disconnect penalty is like that

Sadly if the system was the other way around people would just constantly alt f4 every game when they'd want to quit.
Bad actors are why the penalty was added to begin with and bad actors are why it punishes crashing as if it was intentional because they would do it intentionally.

So? People just kill themselves on hook if they don't want to play. You can't stop players from leaving a game they don't want to play. You catch innocent people like me in the crossfire and the rampant abusers of the system will just keep abusing the system. Nothing you can do will stop the people who rage quit from rage quitting, so why punish people with bad PCs? We end up being the ONLY ones that are punished.

See my above post. The only people that are being punished are the innocent people and people who forgot the penalty was in place. After one 5 minute wait they'll just go back to suiciding on hook instead. You can't force people to play a match they don't want to play.

well it could be implemented a subsystem to control if there was a crash and determine it was unintentional but I doubt its in their TODO list

I get some game crashes occasionally but never experienced the DC penalty then..

As I mentioned in another reply, not only they punish you for not owning the best pc possible, they also punish you for their own mistakes in optimization.

Today the game just threw me out during the mori. No crash notification, no "internet connection" notification, just threw me out of the trial, saying I was disconnected from the host (I was playing the killer, #########??) while having stable 50 ms. Boom, ban for dc. I'm just... Okay.
