Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Let's hope that after the hype the Devs think about putting the Wendigo ingame

And for the 1000th time I mean the Folktale Wendigo and not the Until dawn once since they did not even make it look like the Wendigo but just looks like Golem from LOFT.

I just really hope the Devs look into making dlc based on Folktale creatures since would be awesome. Plus Folktale creatures are not really owned by people since they have been around for a long time and its not like the Wendigo is gonna walk in the Devs asking them for money if they want to put him in-game.

Besides Wendigo they can do Spring Heeled Jack, The Jersey Devil, Chupacabra, Mothman, or even the Dullahan which is the Irish Version of the Headless Horseman but a lot more gruesome.

Again there was tons of people interested in the Wendigo idea [Not until dawn] so maybe Devs will think about doing this in the future.

[Edit] Cause people don't know this for some reason Until Dawn Wendigos are not even real wendigos but just a person who was possesed then began a transformation cause of it so would rather have an Original Folktale chapter made by BHVR with the Deer skull either as a cosmetic or as a default since its iconic so people can tell its the Wendigo. Also no one really knows the true look of the Wendigo so we made one up with the Deer skull which does fit it very well.

Some looks have grey, brown, or black fur with sometimes bones and rib cage visible. The modern Wendigo style is great because you can do many different styles while keeping the look that most people can recognize that its the Wendigo even though its not official nor there is official look its the most iconic and most accepted look of the creature which make sense if you describe why every detail is matched with its lore.

What exactly is the "Folktale Wendigo"? Because I'm pretty sure Until Dawn got the depiction pretty down pat, at least to the Algonquian interpretation. Pale, very tall, emaciated, sharp teeth and gangly limbs.

I hope you're not referring to the 'deerskull' depiction, because as far as I know, that's a modern interpretation influenced by pop culture and has no basis in actual mythology.

I'm guessing it is the deer skull which is what everyone keeps asking for, the Devs of Until Dawn actually spoke to native Americans about the wendigo so they wouldn't upset people.

Yes the Deer Skull one since its the most Iconic one and we don't even really know what they look like and think we can have a better original DLC then just asking another company for their version.

The reason why it has a deer skull in the first place is because it relates to the forest and nature it surrounds itself in.

Most cases its not wearing a deer skull but has a deer head. Also until dawn Wendigos are not even wendigos cause they are just people that were posesed by the Wendigo that went into a horrible mutation cause of it.

There is no real record of what the Wendigo actually looks like so we came up with the "Classic" Folktale look based on what it does and how it works hence the Deer skull cause of hardly any food in the harsh cold so most likely starve.

Its the same thing as the Chupacabra because we dont know if its an alien with spikes on its back or just some kind of weird blood sucking dog.

That is why if we dont know what something looks like we make some look based on what the thing is. The Until Dawn one did a good job but like I said its not the Wendigo but just some person who was possesed by it so would rather have the real thing with modern interpretation then some human that the Wendigo possesed who made multiple versions of those creepy things but this tis being licensed so a a BHVR modern interpretation would be better since will allow more freedom with cosmetics, lore wise, and possible tome but without the hassle of licensing issues.

Also main point is not to try and find some company who made a version of a folktale creature but rather make their own version like how Until dawn did with "Their Wendigo" but make their own version so we can not worry about licensing about cosmetics and actually enjoy that they made their own version of a folktale creature then just go to some company and be like

"I don't feel like making my own version of a folktale legend so how about I use yours instead?"

Again I do not know why people are wanting a licensed character of a folktale legend rather then BHVR making their own version so we can expand it more rather then having a license that just takes away so many options.

Also Deer skull again cause even though its the modern version its a version we can tell that its the Wendigo and could even be just a head cosmetic.

I’d like to go either way. A wendigo with a Native American as a survivor, or until dawn with 2 survivors, male and female

I agree with them all except the jersey devil, we don't speak of when they touched the jersey devil
