Uses for Decisive Strike;
- To Extend A Chase - the original point of the perk.
- Second Chance when other survivors perform unsafe saves - stops the Killer from being able to punish survivors on their mistakes and playing recklessly.
- Immunity - Lockers, Windows, and Gens. Being chased, jump in a locker. The 40-60 seconds that the DS is up, is one full gen in game. The whole cooldown is one free chase that the killer has to either sit through or force out of you just so you can get away again.
It's literally a perk that has extreme benefit for the survivor, with 0 fall back, and the Killer can't even counter it because in most cases slugging harms the Killer as well.

60 seconds is a long time to be delaying a rehook. If your unsure of ds power look up twitch and see the number of survivor streamers running it. The perk is absurdly good.
You obviously run it with unbreakable since they can't pick you up and if they do ds kick in as long as one of those perks is returning value you have a huge advantage. These perks wins games. A perk also isn't terrible if you don't get to use it. All perks have there purpose if a killer is playing around a perk its likely very strong.
That being said its probably the most busted combo a survivor has at there disposal. You know like how pop was so oppressive they had to cut the times its available so you couldn't take advantage of double pop.

What I'm getting from this entire thread is that DS is a "useless" and "pointless" perk for the original poster. Which in that case... If it isn't ever going to work for you then stop running it? Find another perk that works more in your favor?
DS is part of meta builds for a reason. It's working really well for others just not for you. 🤷
Most survivors have a point for bringing it, which have all been covered why they bring it. You've countered with it never works for you. So, there probably isn't a point for you to bring it as you'll keep countering every answer that gets put.

I was seen a lot survs with same wasted DS... Like they get use it but in a next second get DC cuz killer any way got him or anything else... Someone was saying that this can be a team issue and I can agree since I was dying on first hook most of times cuz potato teammates just sit in lockers and in a grass

Well it depends on the amount of tunneling I meet at that day.The more tunneling, I bring DS. If there is no tunneling I bring Unbreakable. For fast pickups there is We're gonna live forever.
And in every match it is good to have an Obsession. Just for the psychological effect.

I haven’t used it since the first month I started playing dbd. It’s an okay perk, but I’m only allowed 4 and there are at least 5 others that I’ve learned give me better odds at winning, or at least more bloodpoints if I don’t.

I bring it just in case i either get tunneled or the survivor who unhooks me doesnt take agro. I dont expect to use it every match but its a trick in the pocket that i can use just in case the killer forgets about it in the heat of the moment, happens to me more than id like to admit.

Honestly, I concur. Rush gens or die boring snooze fest lucky if the first survivors don't give up right away making it even more difficult and awkward.

If killer slugs you for that 60 seconds you got already insane value of the perk. Killer slugging one survivor for 60 seconds could be potential 120+ seconds on generator progress when other 3 are repairing.

Equipping DS has never made sense to me. I've nicknamed it Die Soon. The majority of killers seem to take it quite personally and tunnel you for using it.

Its good if you get really good at loops because if you waste too much of a killers time and get hooked, if someone saves you while the killer is still camping you then you can make some distance and escape if the gens are done

Guy, DS is the best survivor perk in the game, with UB, DH and BT. Give it a try

Ds is strong perk but killers act as if 60 secs are 60 mins they are so dramatic over it

Guess what - they also tunnel you if you don't use it.

Yeah, I was seeing bush Claudete with this perks and guess what??? Yes, she was hiding in bushes

While personal experience is anecdotal it is all I can go by. My personal experience is I get tunneled WAY more after using DS than any other time.

I didn't bring DS today but still got tunneled till death

Saying you don't miss the skill-check, latency doesn't mess up the skill-check, and the killer doesn't bring a mori, you get to live for a tad bit longer. I say tad bit because most killers will just tunnel you after they have been hit with DS.

I have tried it. I don’t really about it because most killers wind up tunneling me anyways.

With ds you make sure you have an obssession during the match like that the killer need to play like everyone have DS. That mean no tunnelling unless he dont care about that. If you expect someone else to have DS you can just bring UB and any other meta perk and the killer will play around your DS because you get 1 obssession in your game
