1 hour per day is laughable, especially for competitive games

Sarcasm aside, i'm playing this game about 20 hours a week and I play video games about 5-8 hours per day. I am at rift level 27, and that's only because I used 1300 AC. I've completed 90% of level 1 and level 2 challenges. at the pace i'm going (which is 3x faster than behavior claims on gdc) I will not complete the rift.

I do not believe people only play video games 1 hour per day and even if they did, no one plays only dead by daylight, which means they would be playing dead by daylight about 2 -5 hours a week alongside maybe 1 other game. This is a generious estimate. If anything they are like me with a list of 3-5 games a day which they alternate between playing for 8 hours a day). I've just never met a gamer who plays video games ony 1 hour per day. And if I do, I will tell them not to even bother. That 1 hour per day is not going to get them anywhere in an MMO, it's not enough time to practice combos in a fighter and it will take them more than a month to complete a single player game. Not sure where this false statistic came from, but there's just no way people are playing 1 hour a day. There's no way that you have 5 million active players who solely play dbd for 1 hour each day and play no other games. If you only had 1 hour per day to play wow, don't even bother. How are you going to explain to your raid leader during the 59th minute of a raid that you have to go. raids take like 5 hours + to beat...

So excuse my skepticism here, but I am not buying it.

This may not be the most accurate, but for the conviction tome, fully completing a level got me around 10 tiers (including the amount of rounds it took me to complete the challenges). 4 levels, roughly around 40 tiers, maybe a few more. That leaves around 30 tiers. It would take me around 2 matches to get a fragment, and you need 300 (10 fragments per tier). So that's about 150 rounds that I needed to play ON TOP of fully completing the levels. An average round, about 15 minutes. That's 37.5 hours extra that you need. Grinding the rift is ridiculous. I played around 5 hours a day and only finished the rift 2 days before it closed

I did the maths during the first rift.

1 hour a day is technically true if we're only considering time spent within a match AND you complete every challenge AND every day you play both killer and survivor to get the first match XP bonus. Adding queue time to that alone almost doubles the time commitment, and that's before considering how the amount of shards from the challenges has varied wildly over the different passes.

well explain that to behavior because they did a youtube video back when the system was first announced with GDC (game dev conference) claiming A) the rift was designed to be played casually 1 hour per day and you could complete it not spending a dime other than the gold rift pass and b) they don't want "color variations" to be abundant as constumes in dbd..

yet..if you examine these statements closely neither are true. You got players playing 20 hours per week, 5 hours per day or what not who barely make it in time to complete the rift. On top of that, the majority of the costumes on the store ARE JUST RECOLORIZATIONS..

I already reamed them out for this when they made the video..the comment got deleted..for obvious reasons.

this whoel rift system is just flawed. Half the challenges are designed around ALL PLAYERS, playing their roles. What actually ends up happening, especially since console crossplay launched, is 90% of the matches everyone but you just goofs around. Killers don't hook or interact with survivors, THEY ARE RUNNING AWAY FROM SURVIVORS, or survivors won't let you heal them, unhook you unsafely etc etc. It took me over a week just to complete the challnege "fully deplete 3 medpacks" because every match i entered I ran around like a maniac trying to heal people who refused to be healed OR, the killer never even attacked anyone.

it becomes especially troublesome . I got this challenge for instance to get 4 silver medals in one game. I keep getting 1 bronze because the killer lets us win..

    Anyway..(presses SHFT+TAB)

Today i've been playing dbd since about 9pm..i've gained 1.5 rift levels. half a level from where i left off yesterday and 1 level for spend 100 AC that i got from the rift..

I'm now at rift level 30..with 41 days left.. like I said, this is after I spent money to get 1300 AC when I purchased the gold tier DAY 1 OF THE RIFT. I've been playing every day at least 1 hour a day since then faithfully. I've been typing this for the last 15 minutes..still in que.

QUESTION: if riot is forced to make changes to their battlepass due to similar issues such as this, why is dbd immune?

Even if they did, 1 hour per day is not enough to complete rift

It usually takes me about 140 hours to complete a rift, so 1 hour a day is definitely not enough, but 20 hours a week should be just fine.

I tend to play about 4-6 hours per day. Those 4-6 hours usually gets me up about a tier and a half. 1 hour per day is not near enough to complete the rift.
