Thanks devs!
For removing bloodlust. As a killer main, I always hated it since it lags you out and denies you kills. So thank you! Youve actually done something right for once!

Tbh if it's hand in hand with these map improvements, I really do understand.
The problem is they are taking this away, but things like survivors holding a game hostage, ebony moris, Huntress Iri Heads, the space bar struggle phase mashing, and all sorts of other obnoxious issues still haven't been looked at after yeaarrsss and years.
It just feels like priorities are messed up.

yeah def agreed. but with devs like these who barely listen to the community its something. im just happy for that. hopefully this change stays

fun fact that bloodlust being gone = fast killer matches! why? they get out of a match and they're right back in a match! survivors get to wait 5-10 minutes for a 4 stack group! gotta love that! yea it's soooo good that players have noted that some maps it's good but others it's bad. my experience: why do i want to play a game that's going to make me wait or cripple my game play... i'd rather not spend another dime on a game doing that and find one that isn't doing that to me. this weekend (friday) has already shown that the killers that didn't like the decision to do that decided to take a weekend OFF and it's showing on survivor side. now this is WITH cross play on. so yes thank you for showing me that without a true solution this game will start a downward spiral. here is what i'm talking about:
this was taken at 1am eastern time frame (or very close to it) and you will notice that the player base is dropping dramatically. last 30 days has an average of 38.8K and at midnight eastern it was at 35K. TRUE that is about the time the east coast starts dropping off but i was watching survivors play at 10pm eastern and it was bad. also if you look at the level on the day before at this time it's just barely over that, why do i point this out? this is the weekend for most people. Now this is also only listing from STEAM and though the "test" covers all platforms the numbers I've talked about are ONLY for steam thus you can see the trend. I'd love to see the trend on the other platforms but i don't think it's going to show much difference in the trend. We will have to see how the 3 day test goes, but it's a very tough thing to play through a test like this that is sprung on a player base like this was and without some sort of compensation to try and keep things working like a normal weekend playing day.
I just looked at last friday the 13th and there were 36K people playing at midnight and today at midnight there were 28K players... a difference of 8,000 players. that's a huge difference and worrisome if this becomes reality. You may like it but that isn't the whole so take a look at things from more than just your own experience look at other people's as well.

With all due respect, I'm not quite sure if you're trying to invent a narrative or if you're having trouble reading the chart.

ummm the numbers are there.... if you want to look you'll see the numbers here is the direct link and you can see the numbers for yourself, and by mousing over the player line it WILL tell you specific time and number of players at that time: https://steamcharts.com/app/381210#48h
This is the 48h from the time you click that link I believe, I doubt that you will get what I got for that. I also went to 7 days to compare last friday night midnight (going to saturday) to friday midnight going to sat the 21st. I did not invent any narrative I commented about numbers from the chart, and though the lines are 40K and 20K in the chart you can guestimate the number, backing yourself up by seeing it when you touch the chart it'll tell you the specifics at each hour it represents.
Now tell me specifically what you are trying to tell me about the chart that you think i was interperting incorrectly or else why did you comment without intending to try and enter into a discussion about it outside of just trying to accuse me of something you're unwilling to even do yourself.

- You're comparing the wrong days - Last week's Friday to this week's Thursday. You can tell by looking at the chart you screenshotted, that the number all the way on the right (which is today, Friday at midnight EST) that the concurrent players are well above 28K.
- The actual numbers show that today at midnight at 35K vs last week at midnight 35.5K which is essentially no change and within any margin of error.
- When you look YoY which is how you should actually look at charts to adjust for seasonality, you see that the player base has doubled. Week over week comparisons show nothing, especially when talking about the long term health of a product.
It just seems like you're fishing for something that's not there. Let's just play the game and see how things pan out.

Forums cleared my last post so I will keep it short.
It looks like you are comparing last week's Friday to this week's Thursday. In the screenshot you posted above, at the very right of the chart would be Friday (today at midnight) which definitely doesn't get close to 28K. If you use Friday for both weeks, you will get 35.5K (last week) vs 35.0K (this week), which basically shows there is no change week over week.
If you want to compare week to month (38K number to 35K number), you have to adjust for seasonality. To do that you would have to compare YoY. If you do a YoY comparison, playerbase has increased 1.5X.
It just seems like you are fishing for something that isn't there. Let's just enjoy the game, BL test or not and see how things play out.

where as I will admit i did misread the numbers, but you will see the chart is set to 48 hours, and i was looking at the right side of the chart (november 21st is actually saturday) I will admit I am seeing a different number than what I remember looking at so I will concede that point. and you say that looking at anything other than Year over Year tells you nothing. That is incorrect as if the trend that I originally was seeing i did say that it was at 35K and then later (where I made my mistake and you can see it in the post as I will not change it to make myself look better) is when i went to look at things on a week to week basis. when there is a change in something, these are indicators of what could happen and feed into predictions. It is true when you look YoY, you will see that currently the numbers are going up but a down turn at one point could be a signal. so it is something to work with and should never be disregarded.
Anyways I admit my second portion is incorrect. I will admit that mistake, but your point about the YoY is not what I was talking about, there you are taking data that was not including the information being discussed, so that is erronious though a generally correct statistic. this is why statistics are very hard to deal with because you can make it seem like anything if you look at the wrong section, *LIKE I ENDED UP DOING* the Year over Year statistic could not reflect a change due to this test until another year has passed. but looking at the numbers on the micro scale (1-7 days) and comparing the previous X day to the current X day is a valid comparision and shows you those potential trends the Year of Year does not.
Oh and my original mention of the over all last 30 day average of 38K to the at the time 35K was not a comparison beyond that this friday night we were below the average of the last 30 days, again it could be showing a potential trend and needs to be looked at even if it doesn't determine that action is not warranted. If a company waited for the Year over Year to show the trend they'd be out of business though the YoY would be the best at predicting LONG TERM growth or loss.

You will still be able to get downs on short Loops as Killer. As long as you are better than the Survivor. Because that would be an actual outplay.
With Bloodlust, such a fair situation (both players can outplay each other) would become unfair because the Killer would gets a free Speedbost.

absolutely this. devs have low iq and priorities backwards

No game lasts forever I just Hope Behaviour won't bail out on this game and take on the example of RockStar With GTA they're still releasing updates and free DLCs that the people now just want a new game already .
it'd suck but i see it going for a couple more years at least before it dies out

they'd have to have another title that would be pulling in money before they drop to that. and you are right, eventually every game drops off, but dbd is in a peculiar niche that is wierd there isn't much out there for it. but lets look at other multiplayer games... everquest started in 1999, still going strong, and new expansions being dropped. eq2/wow started in 2004 still going strong. WOW is still charging for access with only a free trial. FF14 2013 released, has a significant f2p aspect but still not fully f2p. swtor same as ff14. so even with multiple games in the same vein as dbd it might still live on for many years to come. we shall see.... but the worst part are the ones the companies put down like city of heroes.... was doing great financially but the studio responsible was undermined and shut down by their owner ncsoft.

I actually forgot bloodlust was so glitchy on console. I'm glad they're finally taking a risk though and disabling a pretty big mechanic to try and tackle a problem (even though we've all known the problem with bloodlust and it's the maps. We've been saying this for how many years now?). It was only needed for the very dumb setups that could potentially spawn on some maps and if this weekend exposes those issues in the plainest English that even BHVR can understand then I'm all for bloodlust being gone for good.
