Unpopular Opinion: Bloodlust is actually a necessary mechanic
I think the devs are trying to change the bloodlust mechanic because recent map changes (reduction in map sizes, removal of infinites, more unsafe loops) along with other game changes have caused killer win rates to steadily rise over time. This being said, they are considering offsetting the change in maps/win rates with the removal of bloodlust. I don't agree or disagree with why they are changing it, this is just my speculation.
Overall, I don't think bloodlust removal will try to fix the core issue that they are targeting. To understand why, we need to look at the use cases of bloodlust:
High Rank Killers don't need bloodlust and generally will either get a hit / force a pallet drop every 15 seconds in chase. The only time bloodlust is relevant is when the killer wants to cheese you at a semi-safe pallet. However, from a survivor perspective, this isn't that bad because you know you are wasting the killers time. Either way, bloodlust isn't needed at high ranks and even when its used, it's not seen as unfair.
Low Rank Killers will sometimes need bloodlust. Especially when they are against someone who is more skilled at looping. Most low rank killers don't know when to drop a chase, when to break a pallet to break, etc. This is where bloodlust is needed -- without it, games will be very frustrating when going against someone with higher skill.
To really sum it up, high rank players don't really care about bloodlust in 90% of games and bloodlust won't change the outcome. However, there are scenarios that I believe low rank killers sometimes need bloodlust. If nothing else, I think that bloodlust should at least be turned into a perk -- similar in usage to perks like unrelenting.
tldr; removal of bloodlust doesn't solve what devs are actually trying to fix and creates additional frustration for low rank killers

Lets wait and see what BHVR thinks after the test, then we can yell at them for removing our favourite things from the game.
chillax and play this weekend.

Oh no, my Huntress flashbacks of running around some stupid stuff, where I can't even throw a hatchet over, they are coming back!

All they had to do was fix the fps drops every time bloodlust activates. I really think that they're so lazy that they won't even do that, but will instead remove bloodlust altogether so they just don't have to deal with the problem.

I'm all for trying something new out. I just want to point out the use cases that might not necessarily be apparent from looking at the "data".

Completely agree. It's been so long since I've gotten tier 2 bloodlust as killer, let alone tier 3. I've seen many chases where a killer will forego using there power and just wait for bloodlust to get themselves the hit. I just hope they take certain map tiles into consideration before they get rid of it entirely.

they said that even with this, they do not plan on changing bloodlust anytime soon. I think of this more as a "lets see what happens/lets get the stats" thing than a "lets plan on removing it" thing.

Killers don't need bloodlust just like how we don't need air conditioning in our cars, just learn to roll down the window. It might not be needed all the time, but that A/C sure is nice when driving across Death Valley in the summer. Oh and certain corn maps are Death Valley in this case.

I agree and do think bloodlust is necessary personally as in certain situations its quite useful. However we shall see with this test.

The way they have acted in the past Bloodlust will probably become a hex perk that will show the auras of all survivors for 10 s wherever they are on the map whenever a pallet is dropped or destroyed....

Will provide an update after playing this weekend:
Overall, I think that bloodlust didn't really affect my games as killer. However, I think my original point still stands. While playing survivor, I have still noticed that some beginner killers need bloodlust.
On the other hand, I don't really understand how people can claim they are very experienced with killer and absolutely need bloodlust (same people that are claiming car loops are infinites). There may be 2 or 3 loops which still need tweaking for high level play, but overall BL doesn't make that much of a difference.

I feel that if they would remove bloodlust in the current state of the game, "skilled" killers won't be affected that much. The pool of "skilled" killers will shrink though.
There could be a bigger pool of "skilled" survivors and a smaller pool of "skilled" killers. This could affect queue times or, these "skilled" survivors will match with lesser "skilled" killers and steamroll them. This could possibly shrink the killer pool even more or maybe result in killers adopting a less fun style of play that survivors will not like.
I have 0 evidence, this is based on feels.

Bloodlust was a bandaid to fix broken map design. Now behaviour are fixing old maps bloodlust will soon have no purpose other than to further screw solo survivors. Time to take the bandaid off

The thing that annoys me about all these bloodlust posts is that "baby killers NEED something to offset their lack of skill!" but a lot of these people saying this (not saying you're one of them) are also the same people who get mad at bad survivors having "crutch" perks to offset their lack of skill.
I personally don't enjoy that there is a mechanic that hand holds a killer (regardless of rank) if he can't out mind game you. BL1 is whatever but it's annoying to have long chases cut off because the killer who couldn't catch you at a T&L/unsafe pallet/combination of extremely weak+mind-gameable tiles gets you anyways because he is now ZOOOOOOOMING and can brute force a hit regardless of breaking his ankles with mindgames.
BL1 can stay, idc, but I think it would interesting if they turned Beast of Prey into the perk for bloodlust, or something like that. Idk I don't really care if bloodlust stays or goes. It's a little annoying as survivor but it is what it is, I get how useful it can be on some maps for some killers
