So for now onw every event will be a logging and Redeem Codes TY
Is may be the worst idea Devs have and put in the game. I know they want to get as many money as they can but if the keep in the same path they will kill the game. The solution ? Ether don't play the game os stop buying anything and mean anything from they. It's the only way to stop it.

In all seriousness, did you read what they were saying? They're going to do bigger things for the anniversary and Halloween events moving forward, but to put the time and effort into that they had to scale the other events back. I'm certainly not one to sing their praises, but I'm completely ok with BHVR putting out two good events and a few minor ones instead of being mediocre year round.

Learn to read.

It specifically states this is to make the Halloween and Anniversary events better. I'm all for it. Honestly I hate these evens most of the time as people stop actually playing and just farm for whatever item/challenge they're trying to complete.
4 -
i would agree with you but seeing how bad they did this years Halloween event im starting to doubt that they will be doing "bigger and better " events. Hopefully im wrong
0 -
bigger and better event should be the halloween but they have plan nothing for it. So when devs say we try the same thing but maybe add samething to make it look good you know it gonna be bad.
But tell me are you ok with event that like thoes ?
1 -
They said they heard the complaints about this years Halloween event and are gonna improve the Halloween and Anniversary events and make them bigger.
1 -
And I quote from the article: "We’ve heard your feedback from the recent Eternal Blight event, and this plan is our first step working towards events that truly feel special by allowing us to focus on which events need the most effort. "
If next year's Blight is bad then yes, the criticism will be valid and moreso because they've claimed they're going to work hard on it and the anniversary event to avoid another disappointment. But until the anniversary event at the very least, I'm not going to call them out for making the other events less involved because we haven't seen what the extra time they've given themselves results in.

Bro I swear this community picks and chooses whichever parts of a dev statement fits their narrative of "dev bad" and ignores everything else.
16 -
Bro did you read it? It says "How will it work?"
WORK
Bhvr is literally going to force us to work for the company to earn any more cosmetics. How is this legal?!
10 -
Yeah, I'm definitely usually critical of the game/the devs, but this one was pretty blatantly a good thing across the board.
6 -
Actions speak louder than words and the devs actions previously have been lackluster. No need to pick and choose.

I swear BHVR forces us to do so much things against our wills, it’s really scary.
i guess we finally found the real HORROR part of DbD.
3 -
😞 We should have seen this coming
2 -
Yeah, but shitting on them now is 100% the wrong move. They said that they will improve on those events, so the very least would be to wait until next year, how those improvements look. Everything else would be pretty unfair.
7 -
Actions do speak louder than words, hence why I'm looking forward to the next few chapters after Twins and next year's anniversary event to see if they stick to their promise of:
A) More LGBT+ representation (since chapters are planned 3-9 months in advance so I'm waiting for chapter 20+)
B) Better anniversary and Halloween events at the cost of little to no other events.
Because I'm a posisive person and I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt here. I've only ever been well and truly disappointed in BHVR twice, once was the Ruin nerf that I've learned to live with and once was the Eternal Blight event. After coming up to 3 years of playing this game I'm going to trust them on this. And if they disappoint me I'll gladly eat my words, but unlike the rest of this community apparently I have some patience.

By work, you mean PLAY the game? :)
0 -
No they mean actual manual labour. Become their Community Managers or suffer.
1 -
Perhaps we didn't read the same post? I don't see anything that requires you to do anything outside the normal. You log into the game to play during the month of December and you get free stuff. If you consider the game work, I think you should move on. Find yourself something you enjoy.

I mean this in the least offensive way possible but the joke has gone whooooooooooosh
5 -
Ah, yes. It went right over my head. :) Sorry about that. I'm so used to people actually complaining that I can't even see irony anymore.
4 -
With these forums nobody can blame you lmao

Last year they said they were cutting back on events and things were going to be in the rift, so they could have more time to fix the game. How's that working out?
There's constant bugs, they are now releasing unfinished DLC, and they wouldn't even admit Blight' POV was too low until we all saw he was standing in the ground because of that model bug with the killers. Where's the MMR, hit validation, and console optimization?
Edit:fixed typo

Take a look at the rest of my posts in the thread - I am more than happy to criticize the devs when they don't follow through on promises...I've got a thread in feedback saying they should delay the Twins until they fix the locker exploit (and had people telling me I was too harsh and whatnot) and every other time they've mucked something up I'm here stating my displeasure.
What I'm not willing to do is criticize an idea if the idea is good. It's a good idea, what they're proposing here. If they don't follow through you can fully expect me to be annoyed and typing up criticism here. But I'm also not willing to say "well yeah right, I'll believe it when I see it" because that's gotta be demoralizing to read...why even bother at that point? I'm happy to say "yes, I like the way this sounds, please actually do this" because it gives them the positive feedback necessary to tell them they should do this. And if they mess it up or don't follow through, I will be all too happy to provide the negative feedback they deserve at that point.

I do see that in the rest of the thread. The thing that rubbed me the wrong what is that folks are telling @KingOfGhost to learn to read when the Dev's track recored shows the opposite of what they are telling us.
King as every right to be suspicious and disappointed about that post.
I had just responded to you, simply because you were the first to jump on him.

Their complaint totally dumbfounded me too, so my gut reaction was agreeing with this, but, to be fair, the attribute that makes this statement true is the same pitfall of evaluating any collective really. Any opinions conveyed by a minority (or even individual) within the collective technically qualify as a response from that "community," even where the grand majority might actually disagree entirely.
At the moment, there's about 1 upvote on the OP and 28 on the first post calling him out about it.
Where this event is actually a great sign of BHVR making efforts and very much a positive thing, maybe this thread is actually a positive testament of how the community REALLY feels in response to those efforts. It's just not the OP that's so telling after-all. :-)

The issue I take with that is he wasn't acting suspicious. He straight up said "every event will now just be login rewards and codes" which is objectively untrue. Had he said anything about "I don't think two larger events are worth the others being turned into this" that's valid criticism and more power to him for expressing it. But his title statement is just straight up untrue, and he doesn't follow it up with anything saying the other part of it, which is why I asked what I did.

I'm honestly excited to see what they're planning on doing. I wonder if it's just bloodpoints and Iridescent shards again or are they going to sprinkle some auric cells in there.
1 -
Free bloodpoints and shards? Count me in, that's all I have to say.
The crown was kind of fun, but you would mostly die just trying to keep it as survivor. I wasn't a fan of the gen thing too. Made killer camps the gens that rewards us and the rewards were not even that great anyway.
Rewarding me for just playing, in these circumstances, is just good enough for me.
4 -
More LGBT+ representation? The devs have given you Old Lady Bubba!
1 -
Put me in the opposite camp. I have no problem with events being half-assed in exchange for higher-quality chapters.
1 -
and trust me ive been rooting for a strong female protagonist for years
0 -
I have no problem with the approach to this. I'd love complaining as much as the next guy, but if they make the two events they plan on putting effort into cool, then I'm all for this change. if those two events really suck, then we probably can complain a little :)

I just hope the redeem codes are for everyone. No more limited 30 digit codes that are miserable to try to get and enter, especially for console.
1 -
So if we ignoring the part where the daily log in and the other part where if you miss said cosmetic I would be in the shop
Then yes your right
0 -
I doubt auric cells because the would basically be handing out a frew license killer or survivor and that could get them in trouble
1 -
Uh... did you read everything? They're scaling down the other events so they can put more time and effort into the important ones (anniversary and Halloween). This is a good thing.
Now the code exclusive cosmetics could go very wrong if they pull the same BS they did with Dwightcrow. However, they said they took the feedback from Eternal Blight and learned from it, so hopefully it won't happen again.
1 -
This is why we can't have nice things
0 -
yeah I hope they at least put good effort into the Halloween one. I would’ve like Christmas instead of anniversary but I’ll take anniversary. But for you to say “they’re scaling back on other events to make more time for the anniversary and Halloween events” just doesn’t quite make any sense. In theory it does, but their events are literally just plain old reskins from every other event. Nothing new. This past year we got new skins on medkits and flashlights for the anniversary events, but if that’s what they’re calling “them putting effort into an event” that’s pathetic.
