What perks are near meta?
What perks in your opinion are near meta like if a current meta wasn't there or there was a slight change it would be in the meta.

Isn't it kinda weird how all of the older perks are meta?

almost like BHVR is terrible at making perks

It seems like they're too afraid of making good perks.
I think the problem with most modern perks is they come with too many prerequisites to even activate them.

Save The Best For Last for sure. such a good perk. I'm honestly abusing Knock Out and it's actually more effective against SWF than most people think. Nurse's would be used on stealth killers if gen didn't go so fast, and I have a feeling I'm All Ears would be the best chase perk in the game (other than STBFL), but again, the meta is gen stalling.

exactly this. Why run Gearhead which requires survivors to hit specifically good skill checks, but within 30 seconds of you hitting 2 people with only your basic M1, when you can just run Discordance and know BOOM, 2+ people on this gen. They make perks too complicated and ultimately just garbage

I think the problem is the more perks they add, the harder it gets to add more. They have to consider if a perk will be broken if it is mixed with another perk. At least I hope that's what they do. Given their track record I'm inclined to believe the team that makes new perks don't even play the game.

Hex : Undying

We'll Make It is nearly meta, it's such a good perk but it won't beat Borrowed Time.

I've only seen a killer use that perk 6 times.

Resilience. Play injured, but heal yourself to 99 with a medkit and take half a second to fully heal when the killer is about to chase you. The whole time you're injured, you get a 9% speed boost on almost everything really. It's become one of my favorite survivor perks recently

this is purely on your experience, watch anyone play with ruin and undying and see how effective they are, not to mention i face at least 1 undying every 3 rounds

Okay.
Undying + Ruin is still meta, though.

I think there's quite a few perks that are really good. They are just over shadowed by the meta or other perks are damn near required to have a good game.
corrupt intervention, stbfl, whispers, NC, myc, enduring+spirit fury, im all ears on PH.
alert, lithe+dance with me, kindred, q&q+head on, we'll make it

Hex: Third Seal
Knockout
Brutal Strength
I'm All Ears

Surge
If they could finally get rid of this stupid basic attack requirement.
Same goes for knockout (imagine designing a perk for a killer that doesn't synergize with his power)

Patch after patch they release extremely niche/situational perks that are not that good even when/IF you do finally get a chance to use them. So yeah, older perks are meta. New DLC is zzzzzzzz

No that's not it
I use perks like Auto-Didact and I get two skillchecks and then go full 16 second heals without getting another skillcheck and I think "Yeah, this is why nobody uses this awful perk"
And then I get tunneled/camped/slugged and I wish I had DS/Borrowed/Unbreakable. Those three perks fix the worst part of this game so they're pretty much necessary... and the non-meta perks are so incredibly underpowered they're not worth using.

Spine chill. It's just too good

For survivors, We'll Make It and Prove Thyself. If second chance perks didn't exist these are where the meta would be at.
For killer, I'm All Ears is so underrated. And Thrilling Tremors lives under the shadow of BBQ.
