A community challenge - Design your own game mechanic!

Discussing new game mechanics has been a pretty popular topic to talk about lately. That's why I have a challenge for you, the community. I want you all to come up with ideas for a new game mechanic.

It doesn't matter if it's a killer or survivor mechanic, I want to hear ideas for both sides.

Also, BE CREATIVE!

    Survivor mechanic: Generator parts

Generator parts will be found in chests and random places around the map. Survivors must install some of these generator parts to complete generators. Different generators will require different parts, and some generators will need more parts to repair than others. Most generators require one part to repair, but some may require 2 or even 3.

In every match, there will be at least 4 generators that require one part, At most two that require 2, and One that requires 3.

Installing a part on a generator that doesn't need it will cause a loud noise notification, but the generator will gain a small amount of progress in return.

    1) A killer mechanic that allows him to take the look of a survivor. Could be a new kind of stealth killer, something that could go without red stain and terror radious. It could be either a normal human killer that "masks/unmasks" or a paranormal polimorph killer that takes the look of a specific survivor after having stalked it or downed it, maybe on a cool down.

    2) A killer mechanic to go on all fours and be able to climb on walls and over loops, the bad part would be the lower point of view and its consequences.

    3) A survivor mechanic that would allow the survivor give the killer a loud noise notification (on cooldown) in order to give something better to try gaining its attention than hideous flashlight clicking.

    4) A survivor mechanic similar to head on but working with vaults rather than with wardrobes. like if prepared for a few seconds he can fast vault a window or pallet feet forward and hit/stun the killer for 3 secs or so.

    5) A killer mechanic to place a fake generator or more, fake generators look like normal ones but when completed they reveal themselves as fake ones and give out the position to the killer without increasing the number of completed generators.

I love this idea! It would also make generators a little bit more realistic as well.

Yeah, it's great but I think it have a flaw - that "specific parts required" would be a less problematic for SWF due to communication. Solo players would run with parts from gen to gen where SWF will just say which gen requires that and that. I'd go with just general idea of parts, scrap, nuts and bolts, something vague instead of specific parts that are required to progress gens. Scrap could be scattered on map and that would make survivors to walk around and gather resource.

You should be able to drag downed survivors to safety. Maybe you move them at a speed in-between walking and running and the survivor on the ground can recover at the same time.

This'd allow you to get your downed teammates to a safer place, be that for healing or pallet saving.

Some sort of offering type thing that effects the match, but they are dice rolls, and there's one for survivor and one for killer

But they wouldn't be something dumb like "killer gains 5% plus movement speed" or "one generator already completed"

It would be something like "open bear traps are spread throughout the trial at random, they can only be interacted with by the trapper, any addons that affect the trapper's traps also affect the extra bear traps," or "one generator starts out in a state of disrepair, this generator takes 3 times as long to complete, completion grants 2000 bonus bloodpoints to the entire team."

Something like that, to shake up the game with a sense of randomness that teams have to adapt to. Idk, think it'd be fun.

A Killer that is very close (1 meter? Basically right there by them within a slightly shorter lunge range.) to a Survivor for a few (3 - 5) seconds, they can grab the survivor right away on a button press.

This is intended to combat cheeky bodyblocking survivors who are healthy and dashing for an exit gate at the end. A Killer currently can't do anything about it unless they take something like NOED or they have an instadown power. It's a miracle if you actually catch up to and down the unhooked survivor before they manage to get away and if the unhooker is healthy, they are as safe as can be, without a care in the world.

With this, if the survivors decide to bodyblock the killer, as their unhooked friend runs for guaranteed safety, they can either force a swing out of the killer to have them slow down due to recovery by attempting to circle them or be at the risk of getting picked up and hooked in exchange for your friend. It adds back the danger of the trial.
