My first impression of the Twins

Dear god what a state they're in. They are by far the most buggy, unpolished, mechanically clunky killer ever released. For the sake of brevity I'm not going to go over any of their perks and focus on their power.

First off, Victor is terrible against healthy survivors. The 45 second wait until you can recall him means that any decent player will simply kidnap him like in the ptb, depriving you of your power because you managed to get a pounce. This means that you mostly want to go for already injured survivors. But Charlotte is a generic M1 killer with no ability to down people beyond typical lunges. Meaning you are only able to use your power effectively after going through the slog of hitting someone without a power.

Admittedly he's a menace against people who are already injured thanks to his speed and semi-reliable ability to negate windows and pallets. But his real strength doesn't come from using him as a chase. It comes from using him as a glorified sensor alarm, a baby monitor.

Because although you are locked out of your power if you're too close to a hooked survivor, if you plant Victor down next to a hook before putting someone on it you can switch back at will once Charlotte moves far enough away. This, combined with Victor's ability to reveal anyone moving nearby with killer instinct, allows you to face camp and pressure gens at the same time. The Twins can pitch a tent with efficiency that puts senior boyscouts and Leatherface mains to shame. You can even gain Devour Hope tokens while using Victor since it only matters where Charlotte is.

Just to reiterate: You can face camp with Victor while pressuring gens with Charlotte and gain Devour Hope tokens at the same time.

It completely baffles me how a killer this good at camping made it into the game when the devs seem to take every chance they get to punish it. But here we are. Because if you're not camping with this killer you're probably going to lose. Their chase potential is terrible and bugs plague them. They definitely needed a few more months in the oven before being released.

you are not wrong with the camping potential.

I just hope they don't band-aid this with something like "you cannot switch character in a 8 meters radius from a hook", because it would become a nightmare to play as.

I see two decent solutions to the camping problem though:

If Victor is in a 8 meters radius (numbers can change) from a hooked survivor:

    • Charlotte won't be notified of survivors heartbeats
    • Victor "expire timer" will be noticeably increased (something like... you lose him after 15-20 seconds or something)

Yes, you can still camp, but at least you lose a lot of momentum.

P.S. baby monitor Victor can be countered btw, it's just inefficient without Urban Evasion: if you crouch, you can freely move without notifying Charlotte of your heartbeat
