Why was this chapter released in this state?

I've been stuck in the ground 3 games in a row as Victor completely unable to move or do anything. Do you have a QA process at all? Why even have a PTB? I can say with confidence that I'm not spending actual money on DLC at release going forward. As a huge fan of the game, it's really sad.

They should just take from now until the Year anniversary to fix everything from bugs to problems with killers. I couldn't really care about new chapters I JUST WANT TO PLAY THE ######### GAME

A whole year?! Are you for real? If they can't take time out of their schedule to see how broken their game is then hire a team that'll do it for you but hey that's just me

That's why I never buy anything until it's fixed. Wished other people would do they same so that BHVR can finally see that this is unacceptable and needs to be changed

If I were to guess (and that is always a bad idea), I would say that they released it in this state because they weren't getting enough activity in the PTB to feel comfortable with the results. In short, the PTB is just a limited release where they use us to find the problems. They don't fix them as we report them. They fix them all at once. So with that in mind, if they don't think they have enough people playing in the PTB it just makes sense to make us ALL part of the PTB and release it so they get maximum reporting. I expect you will start to see the fixing go on in about 1-2 weeks after they have collected all the info they feel they need.

Remember, they are a statistics driven company. Thus, if they don't feel they have a good sample, they are going to wait and get a bigger one.

Yet you had streamers play the PTB for a week straight (most streamers) Saying what's wrong with it but it's funny that they IGNORE those people and do something completely different. What were they doing the entire PTB? One of of the PTB yet nothing gets done but a timer for people kidnapping Victor. Yay 1 thing out of the entire chapter works good job

Again, since they identify as a statistics driven company, they are unlikely to put any great weight by Streamers, only numbers. Does that make sense? They are also unlikely to want to balance against Streamers. I'm not defending them. I'm simply telling you my best guess as to why this choice was made. I do give them the benefit of the doubt that they have a good reason for it. I doubt it is anything as nefarious as simply needing our money this week to keep the doors open. :)

Streamers aren't the community. We here at the forum aren't the community (as much as we delude ourselves otherwise). The community is actually the vast thousands of nameless faces you and I will never read a post from or see on the internet. I expect, that they are looking for a sample size big enough to make sure they have all the information they feel they need. I wish they had released it all 100% perfect, or at least far more finished than it is now, but things are what they are today.

But then why have a Fog Whisperer program if you don't plan to utilize it? Pretty ######### stupid if you ask me

It's been interesting watching the narrative Fog Whisperers have had about their own program in the last half year. We've gone from multiple of them saying they were talking to the devs about problems and whatnot to, at least the ones I watch, saying their role is to pretty much just advertise the game. Makes it kinda feel like they got told to stop complaining and giving feedback and just make with the happy gameplay. I have no evidence for this beyond what I've seen the narrative shift towards from the FWs I watch, but it does seem odd.

It definitely wasn’t because they wanted to make more money fast or because they’re incompetent. It’s most likely because they have to release the chapter in an unfinished state otherwise they risk screwing up the release schedule of all future chapters AND/OR they risk having to release an even more unfinished chapter to not screw with future release dates. One thing I’m certain on though is that the devs need more time.

That's not smart because then the people in the Fog Whisperer program get BS because people think they have direct contact to the Devs yet people don't know that they don't because BHVR doesn't utilize it.

The Fog Whisperers are given currency so they can show off new skins, free DLC so they can show off new content, and codes so they can drive more people to their streams. It’s a mutually beneficial marketing relationship, that’s it.

Simple answer: Greed, as much as I hate to say it, this was definitely to me an act of greed, at this point I wanna whats going on with the dev team, I wish I could go and visit them and see what they are doing. This is a sad excuse of a chapter and I can't help but say that. They need to tell us what is going on, what kind of bugs do they have, and how can you fix it. But if you need our help then fine we'll try to help out, just don't hide this, from us.

The fog whisperer program is for marketing/advertisement.

I feel like it's a test to see what people are willing to pay for.

You completely misunderstand why there are Fog Whisperers. I am going to sound cynical here, but I prefer pragmatic. The Fog Whisperers are free advertising, every streamer is free advertising. Good or bad, if people are playing the game, complaining or not complaining, it is more people that will try it out. That is their purpose as far as the company is concerned.

I'm not saying they don't note down those suggestions too. I'm just saying that they see Fog Whisperers as and advertising boon first.
