Killer role is not that fun.
Playing as killer is hardly ever fun. It feels more like playing a ranked match where every action counts and time is of the essence, whereas playing survivor is not. Playing as survivor is a fun experience, you are under no pressure at all. I have over 2k hours in this game and unless I am playing against people with less than 5 hours it just doesn't feel fun. When getting chased by the killer I am having fun, even back when I had 5 hours and the killers scared the crap out of me. When I am playing killer however, it isn't like that at all. If I am chasing someone I am praying to the video game gods that it ends quickly. That isn't fun, it's just frustrating. Knowing that there are 3 others attacking generators. It just feels awful, I don't wanna play killer anymore. I mostly do it for the blood points with BBQ. This isn't about getting 4ks or even 3ks, this isn't even about getting kills but rather how the killer role is not that fun. Can't these devs do something to remedy this? I see a lot of talk about balance, kills, swf and other topics. How come not many talk about the simple and obvious? That the killer role feels like you are on a tournament final and the survivor role feels like you are hanging out with friends.

Neither role is that fun. Like heroin, there are high periods and extreme low periods. That is this game in a nutshell, that's why people keep playing it in spite of its consistently terrible state. It's a simple formula:
DBD gameplay loop (injection) --> evading a killer/4k'ing (the initial high) --> being camped/tunneled/excessively slugged/gen-rushed/rolling bad maps/no kills (sinking to low point) --> End of game with little points or sense of accomplishment (extreme low). Repeat to chase the initial high forever.

I was just comparing this game to Heroin when my friend was asking why I was playing this game again. The comparison is far too apt.

That sounds like a you problem. I almost always have lots of fun with killer, although with survivor I usually don't have that much fun since I either have to deal with killers like spirit, god awful teammates, Dedicated servers, and other stuff that I absolutely hate.

That’s sounds kinda like you do have a sort of video game addiction there..
stop playing if you don’t have fun, it should really be that simple..

I disagree, killer is more intense yes, that doesnt make it less or more fun though. Survivor can be considered boring instead relaxing because of gens. and killer can be intense instead stressful because all your actions matter more.
Depending on the person either role can be seen as more fun

Personally for me it feels far more rewarding to get a hard earned 4k than escaping as survivor. When I escape it's rarely close because of the awful match making. I have far more close games as killer especially in redranks and the need to be good at your killer to pull out the win is what makes killer far more rewarding than survivor imo.

I feel like if matchmaking were better, and there were more people across the ranks it would be better.
Most of my frustration with Killer stems from severe rank mismatch. Maybe some people smurfing to stomp, but mostly severe rank mismatch.

I have a ton of fun using a Killer like trapper it's satisfying when your Traps just start falling into place at some point in the game

I got an actual once in a blue moon unstoppable swf group today. Never wanted to rip my kidneys out more in my life.
