Ruin - bruh, because you need to give them pressure, when you are gonna set your traps, also slow the game down just a lil bit
Brutal strenght, spirit fury, enduring, bamboozle - because the chases are really tough with him
BBQ- Bruh, obviously, hello free wallhack for 4 seconds and points <3

Hes decent with hexes since he can guard them. Even get free traps if placed right

Corrupt Intervention - Jesus, slows the game down so much for 120 seconds that it's hard to pass up. Enduring and Spirit fury are great.

Trapper is less about perks, and more about trap placement, and strategy.
Ruin is an absolute must. Trapper is really weak without it. Make sure you trap your hex totem, but don't over do it. Two traps max.
Everything else depends on your skill level, and preferences.

The best perk for Trapper is to sing 'Here Comes The Trapper'. (And if you've never seen Samination's animations; go, go now, and enjoy really funny DBD stuff)
My problem with Corrupt Intervention is that it's 2 minutes of enforced no gens..which means 2 minutes of only looking for totems instead. It's a Totem killing perk.

Like others said, you need Ruin or Corrupt to slow down the game, because you basically don't have a power until your traps are set. If you don't run them, prepare to lose 2 or 3 gens by the time you've set up. Trapper may be the only killer you'd want Fire Up on.
Chase perks are really good to have, though I'd avoid Bamboozle simply because in most cases you'll have a god loop with a window trapped, defeating the point.
Haunted Grounds is a nice gamble. Most survivors will see you and immediately look for your Ruin - it's nice to get a free early down on your first chase because some numbnut thought it'd be funny to knock over Ruin.
I actually like Save the Best for Last on Trapper as of late, because you can smack people who run into your traps for the second hit at minimal time cost, but you can also avoid hitting your obsession and letting the trap do the job. It ends up helping ends chases very quickly later on once you've cleared a few pallets and the remaining ones are trapped.

I love the trapper, the best add-on's are by far Murky Reagent and Honing Stone. The Murky Reagent makes traps much harder to see and Honing Stone putts them directly into dying state if they or a teammate releases them from the trap.
For perks- personally I think Iron-grasp and Agitation are a must. If you are using Honing Stone use the Deerstalker perk, so you can find them easily while they are downed. For the last perk you can use whatever you like, I like Sloppy Butcher because it slows them down and makes them easier to track. Unrelenting can help if you don't have your trap placement figured out yet and you are spending a lot of time chasing and swinging.
I know. This is an old post but I just found it so I hope it helps out the next person who stumbles on this.
