Kill Switch update: The issue affecting Baermar Uraz's Ugly Sweater has been fixed and the cosmetic has been reenabled in all queues with this update.

Please, Console Twins, HELP! I’m getting sick of missing pounce.

Please zombie Jesus, how are you minimising missed pounces on a controller?

It’s becoming infuriating against red rank survivors that anywhere from 50% of the time in a match, to 100% of the time in a match that survivors dodge pounce all to easily.

I’ve tried tips like moving backwards a bit while charging to stop losing track of the irritating zig zagging survivor, but they’re often able to side step last second, and then kick. And this also doesn’t work around small loops either.

I’ve tried other suggestions here from those claiming pounce is easy to land, but I’m suspecting most of these claims are coming from PC players with M&KB.

So are there are Twins players on console that have figured out a reliable way to get around this BS survivor tactic?!

Please, I’m starting to wonder how I managed to get their Adept, and just totally give up on them.

This is already the exact reason I gave up on Deathslinger, Blight, and PH.

At least with Demo I don’t feel so punished missing a shred.

im sorry man, the only things I can recommend is switch to pc because controller is so limiting to killer, or get that one device that lets you keyboard and mouse on console, that or don't let them misses get you down, just keep celebrating the hits more and more and you might just turn it around once you start to feel more positive

    PS4 player here.

My first suggestion would be: play a bit of demogorgon, then come back to the twins. The reason for this is that even if you miss your shred attack, at least they can't kick you, it's a bit less infuriating. The mechanic of the charge / bait / re-calibrate is very similar, even if with Victor you have an higher degree of freedom (mainly: hit over pallets/windows).

This being said, my suggestion would be to not get overly close to the survivor, since they can easily spin you, and be extremely mindful of where pallets/windows are - usually survivors will try to vault them multiple times if you try to loop around them with victor, and you can mindgame them pretty easily with the correct setup.

The biggest tip that I can give you is take your time, but not too much time. The reason is that while you need a couple of seconds to be sure you can hit and study the survivor's behaviour (which is very important), you don't want them to actually exploit your indecision by gaining too much distance or simply reach a nice angle where you'll need to stop your charge anyway.

If you want to see a fellow console player, this is one of my "first" games with the new killer, I think I did decently (even though you can see I'm still trying to understand how they play, I keep on thinking that I have pop for example lol):

EDIT: also, you don't need to use Victor all the time that you have an injured survivor to try and close the deal. If you look at my previous video, there's a time where I'm chasing a Nea and explicitly say something like "I'm not using my power because I feel this girl knows what she's doing" - I acknowledge the fact that since

    • I don't know the new map yet
    • I don't know if she'll outplay me
    • Charlotte is at the corner of the map anyway, while the survivor is running towards the center. If I miss with Victor, I lose her and a loooot of time to re-centralise

I end up using Victor when I feel she's in a much better spot for me, and even if I miss my first shred, I still close the deal.

I say this because you could say "every time you used Victor survivors were in a bad spot, obviously you'll get them!", but that's precisely the tip I'm giving you, at least while you learn the killer :P

I’m on ps4 but call me crazy but it almost feels like I’m auto aiming in a way when pounce is ready. maybe because I’m currently rank 13 killer and survivors most of the times are pepega, so that’s probably it. But I REFUSE to play blight again. I only played him for the adept and that’s it. So hard to control after the first rush.

Be patient. Watch for pattern. When they are juking they are usually not looking in front of them, so wait until they bump into an obstacle and their movement is limited. Also a lot of us console players don't expect pounces from far back since it's a lot easier when you're up close and personal there with the Baby, so you can take a risk and try to go for a few of those long pounces while they are running away in a straight line

I seem to be ok with long shots, but they’re still risky. And on some maps they’re just not possible with the gen positioning.

I've been playing Victor similarly to Huntress actually:

    • 1: Find a target, get Victor up close to them (or just within range if you're feeling confident), and charge up Pounce.
    • 2a: Survivor is either going to play like a potato and pay you no mind, in which case you just predict their direction and Pounce on them.
    • 2b: Or the survivor will actually use their eyes and perform evasive maneuvers. Wait to Pounce until you think they're about to dodge back into your attack's hitbox (much like with Hatchets).

It's been working pretty well so far and has landed me a lot of Pounces, though the extreme ease of removing Victor and the laughable Incapacitated status have still left the Twins feeling pretty unimpressive in my opinion (well, if they aren't primarily camping and slugging wherever possible). I've been on the cusp of Adept like 3 times tonight though; just had some really rough luck with Hatch spawns and survivors who were aware of the missing collision on part of Gas Heaven.

I disagree on oni, ph, and deathslinger. Low sense and a good fps background you can destroy as slinger. Oni is nearly the same so lol. And PH is nearly the same.

Majority of the time I use victor, I get as close as I can to the survivor before charging the pounce to minimalize misses. The further you are from them the more you have to predict their movement and try to land into them. But an aware survivor still makes it hard which is why I close the distance. It just takes practice for a while but high sensitivity helps as well

If you want to get better play blight that's probably the closets thing to a victor pounce

I main Blight on Xbox and it's like watching a power point presentation with how bad the frames are of Nea turning 2 degrees to the right to counter you're entire power.

I love playing them on my Xbox, and the best thing I can tell you is to treat Victor like a Hatchet and wait a moment; most of the time they just keep moving and it gets predictable.

But I think everyone just needs to calm down and have fun with the Twins instead of trying so hard - I have a much better time and at times I win.

I play a lot of demo on console and only miss shreds from close range on my obsession since i used STBFL, the only reason i miss as victor is because he can't m1 survivors so they can run up in his face while that isn't a issue with demo.

you just have to wait with victor backing up also helps, definitely a killer PC can do better with but he is still playable on console more so than the other PC killers.

There’s nothing fun about a red rank SWF managing to dodge every single one of Victor’s pounces and crushing him micro seconds later.

It makes using the Twins entirely pointless if no matter what I do, no matter how carefully I track or wait, the moment the pounce is activated they simply step right or left and avoid it (or they’ve managed to reach a tight loop like a tree that’s impossible for Victor to deal with even with toy sword)

just practice, I alredy got the hang out of Victors pounce, its kind like demos shred but slower (or so I feel).

Then all I can tell you is you're screwed dude.

It's gonna happen, it's literally inevitable in every game unless you're a literal God.

Just like in any game that requires aim, you will miss at times; and you either have to just get over it or practice harder.

little bump, since @TheClownIsKing is on console and I am as well, here's some tips I came up with:

Thanks so much for this. You clearly put a lot of thought and preparation into this.
