The second iteration of 2v8 is now LIVE - find out more information here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/480-2v8-developer-update

What are your thoughts about the event?

Personally, I think this event is alright. At first I was a bit upset I could only obtain 3 cosmetic pieces, as most people were, but I'm grateful they increased the amount to 6 (thank you devs!<3<3<3)

I like how there's a secondary objective for survivors to do. Of course, they don't have to, but let's be real here: most survivors are probably going to go for the flower flesh blob looking things instead of the gens first.

The killer's side of things isn't that special. Hook em' on the special hooks, same as the previous events. I'm fine with that, though. The killers don't have enough time to do something else special like the survivors do for the event.

The thing I don't like about the event is how as a survivor, you may or may not fill your vial at all. If you get found first, your vial is most likely going to stay empty or 1/3 full while the other survivors take all the plants. Perhaps the other survivors will leave some for you, though, if their vials were 2/3 full to begin with or something. It could be worse, I suppose. I've also heard that if you have 30/30 vials for survivor, you can't harvest any more for bloodpoints, which sucks as well. Oh well, at least Killer can farm for bloodpoints.

So what are your thoughts about the event?

How have your games been going? Survivors don't exactly have time to do anything other than gens by the looks of things. Only games I haven't gotten 4k is where I took pity and let em farm.

Basically classic BHVR. Good concept, bad execution. During the event its impossible to play a normal game. Everyone rushs Nectar and suicides, nobody gives a damn. Dead event for survivors after 30 vials.

As Killer, my games have been going as normal. If the survivors want to farm, I let them farm, if they don't, I'll just play normally. The only different thing is I make my way to the event hooks and not the nearest hook.
As Survivor, it's also going fine since I've been mostly in SWF. I don't want to do the event alone, to be honest. It seems like it would be pretty painful. Some games have sucked, some haven't. Since all of us bring the offerings, we all do fine on vial filling and none of us really hog them. I'm probably biased in some way saying the event is alright since I've only been playing SWF and not solo survivor, but I can imagine as a solo survivor the event sucks a lot more.

That sucks a lot. Since I play SWF as survivor most of the time (solo survivor is extremely boring for me) these kinds of people aren't a problem for me. I don't understand why these kinds of survivors can't just...play normally. Is it really that hard? And yea, I hate how the event dies and you can't get more BPS after 30 vials. I think that's a bit dumb.

For me, as a killer, it's pretty stressing when no survivor uses an offering and only me uses it...
It's quite hard to hook those survivors on 3 specific hooks and it doesn't even reward me that much if I do...then I have to  wait the entire match with survivors having definitely more juice than me... (That's how my first 90 minuted looked like...only 1vial and half)

I like it. It's a change of pace for me, and I'm seeing some interesting stuff.
Seeing people on both sides realize they're both doing the event and being chill.
Odd bursts of generosity. Seen killers let the last person escape, or even give the hatch.

Heck, I don't mind slowing down some. It's kinda fun when people realize it.
    Like trick or treat.
Except I'm hitting them with the candy bar as a killer. A big candy bar. A big painful candybar.

Wish the humbugs would get the hook out if their butts, tho. Some people just aren't in the spirit of things.

As a survivor I think it is Farm by daylight.
Farm serum>run to serum hook, make noise, die>repeat

Trapper has never felt so good. It is amazing the difference having a new objective makes in the setup time. Having survivors so focused in the beginning has made late game very rewarding.

I have to be honest. I'm actually enjoying the event because win or lose you get a lot of points regardless. I play killer and yes I'm getting a crap ton of kills but if I can get my hooks and the survivors can get all their juice then we pretty much go our separate ways. But we leave happy and satisfied

We had three games today we're all they wanted to do was Farm. Not going to lie people really seem to enjoy the whole thing

I think it is** grinding too much** compared with the previous events

you have that limit for each container, and if it is almost full, you cant go further in a single match

at least you can choose to get the whole set or separated parts

They should've awarded event exclusives, on top of the blight cosmetics. There's nothing special about earning something when no one can tell if you whether earned it or bought it.

    Good idea, poor implementation.

It is now a gigantic farmfest and basically a race until all flower are gone.

Then the survivors DC/suicide and it begins all over again.

I personally love the event, hate the grind, but appreciate it as a whole.

It does sting a little none of these cosmetics are exclusive/limited for those who grinded/will grind the 60 viles.

I'll be sitting here happy though with my Mr. Drippy Billy, Light-up Sketcher Huntress, and Mr. Hot n Sweaty Trapper.

As you play SWF, you're not quite as much screwed over as solo survivors.

I can never know whether survivors in my lobby other than myself will be harvesting or just not bother (I am on console, so there's no lobby chat to ask). If I bring an offering, there will be three flowers to harvest. One flower gives a bit more than 1/3. So, I can not harvest all three flowers all by myself, not even with an empty vial. This will give me only 8k bonus points despite the offerings. To get the full 12k, someone else must harvest the rest of the last flower.

If noone does, I'm out of luck. And as the event progresses, fewer and fewer will do it because they have all their vials full. Or they simply don't care or don't know that much about the event. As SWF, you can coordinate it so that you get maximum bloodpoints as a group.

When my vial is 2/3 or more filled after a match, it doesn't even make sense to bring an offering for the next match at all because if I'm unlucky and noone but me harvests, I won't get any bonus bloodpoints at all. As I can get only a tiny fraction of nectar in that game and no bonus bloodpoints possible whatsoever so just a "normal" score as if there was no event, I find it hard to encourage myself to stay in the game after achieving my goal 15 seconds into the match.

I love these events because they usually motivate me to play mostly survivor (I almost never to outside events, because matchmaking loves to give me the frustrating teammates most of the time) because you could make a lot of bloodpoints from a match every time. On lunar and summer events, I brought offerings every single game. This one is sadly different. As I said above, it does not even make sense to do so this event as solo survivor.

Not to mention that apparently, SWF harvesting a flower together coordinated can get more nectar from it, so they can grind towards their goal faster, and harvesting together is faster than alone, so they don't lose as much time in the beginning of the match than a bunch of solo survivors. SWF is clearly favored in this event.

So my motivation to play solo seriously is ... not very high.
