Counters to PH

Seriously I don't understand this killer at all. Free zoning and tunneling and constantly spamming his power to hit through walls it's like, I can't drop pallets or vault cause that's basically a guaranteed hit so i'm out of ideas against this killer outside of hide and gen rush which isn't fun

Any tips against this killer?

When I spam his attack like crazy I lose so horrible. I'm worst ph in history. Good ph should be precise in his shots.

I guess you should abandon loops against ph. Gain a distance when he lost you behind the wall and trying to do range attack.

Don't overstay at loops. There is a narrow window you can safely use pallets and windows. This depends on the distance the PH has to you and knowing this window is rough. Holding w is pretty effective against PH's range attack unless he does a side ways prediction or is relatively close to you. Worst case scenario you give up on any fancy counterplay or thought and just force PH to waste as much time as you can. It generally is better to get hit by PH's m2 since you can gain more distance. Well it's better if the PH misses.

Do gens, hide and if he spots you, hold W. He is strong in chases.

There are still baits you can do with his power, this 1 second delay gives you at least something. It's pretty risky though.

Pyramid head is actually broken. He's like a better demogorgon in terms of playing around with his power except his goes through walls and is nigh impossible to mind game. There's a thing called M2 to M1 cheese.

As for people saying "b-but his ranged is short!" That's why you equip range add ons lmao.

Yeah basically this, avoid staying at loops for too long, otherwise you will go down fast.

Mind game the mind gamer. You CAN loop him, it's simple to do. You'd be better off prematurely dropping the pallet and using that to run him in circles. Trying to go for stun or last minute drops will lead to a swift m2 into a down. Bait the PH into thinking you're going to turn some way and make him miss his shot, not that hard to do.

I'd love for you to face my PH and continue saying that you can easily loop a PH.

@topic Honestly stealth is your best best, followed by holding W. Also if there's a change in verticality, like on Dead Dawg Saloon (easily his worst map) or Hawkins' catwalks, abuse the ######### out of it. He can't hit *upwards* with his power, only down slopes. Run up or through buildings with lots of holes in the floor (again see the Saloon or Hawkins) and he's powerless, literally. It's a detriment to even try.

    Elevations counter Pyramid Head's power.

Other than that just hold W and pump out gens while he's out there punishing those that try to loop him like a M1 killer.

Okay, I changed my mind. There is one more counter to PH.

If you have distance on him, loops are still perfectly viable. He's not going to be able to zone you unless he's already in melee range, so to deal with a loop outside of that he has to go with two options:

    1. Be an M1 Killer. We all know how well being an M1 Killer works out at most loops.
    2. Use his power to hit you through walls/at range. This is a strong strat, but because of how slow and stiff charging and aiming Punishment is, and because of how obviously it's telegraphed, the Survivor has the clear advantage in this situation. If you have LoS, it'll be incredibly easy to react to, and if you don't, it's not gonna be too hard to predict. If the Pyramid Head is really good with his shots, you'll have a tough time, but again, the PH has to be really good—like really good.

So ultimately the counter in a chase is still just distance, but distance will enable you to use loops fairly effectively against him; the notion that PH is unloopable is 100% false.

Pyramid Head is countered by staying out of his sight, holding W, making sure you are watching him at all times, and not overstaying your welcome at loops

He has NO mobility and NO map pressure. Take advantage and gens will fly.

avoid getting tormented as much as possible ( you can crouch walk over the trails)

as for the range attack try to be unpredictable like if you were playing against a huntress, run towards pallets, windows and corners but at the last second step to the side a inexperienced PH will miss more often than not but if you are against a good PH throw the pallets early and abandon the loop he is still a m1 killer at the end of the day.

Is that a challenge? Bet. I'd love to try it out against you, win or lose. To be clear, I said that because I find him pretty easy to loop anyways. His attacks are linear in it comes to rite of judgement. I spent 1 - 3 whole minutes running from this PH because he kept letting me loop him at pallets instead of just breaking them. He spammed the shmt out of ROJ and trails.

Even though I was hit with torment, I escaped all chases. I'm no god but I'm pretty sure that if I face off against you, you'll do better then them but feel free to keep that same mentality. I personally have no idea what I'm getting to but I won't deny a challenge you make one.

I'll do that for you, no worries. I've already uploaded clips of my gameplay before I'll happily do it again.
