Alright, time to ask a nub question. How do you counter that wiggle juke thing survivors do that drags your attack off and makes you bloody miss ninety percent of the time as they spin around like a g-damned ballerina despite literally being directly in front of you? XD

I'm playing on console if that matters...sorry to bug ya'll but I just had a match with three folk absolutley humiliating me with it. T_T

P.s. How do you pull it off as a survivor? Just uh, for science purposes? ;p

They do it by just whirling their move stick at the last second. It's a pretty simple tactic that is funny in how it acts as an unreliable Dead Hard vs console killers.

    To counter being 360'd ...

    1. Don't play on console? Using sticks to control first person will never let you rotate or follow a fast moving target as well as a mouse, sadly.

    2. Ok, for real. From what I've seen, a lot of console players kinda angle their camera 45 degrees diagonal instead of straight ahead as they are about to hit. When they go for a swing, the survivor begins to 360, and the killer kind of just strafes to adjust their swing, sometimes even waiting until the survivor finishes their turn, stepping back, and then lunging.

It takes practice. Different strategies for dealing with it include taking a step back, crab-walking, and watching for their pattern and waiting for them to do it before going for the hit. I still mess up plenty. Having your sensitivity at max on console really helps, at least for me; I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to keep up with a turning survivor if the sensitivity were any lower.

(I can't pull it off as a survivor. I theoretically know how, but doing it in practice I just get my ass put straight on the ground.)

@savevatznick @TraceEdge Thank you very much for a timely and helpful response.

@KateDunson Why did you even bother answering? ######### you too I guess.

By actually aiming. 360s works only against bad or inexperienced killers.

@Artick Hi, I'm inexperienced and asking for help. Aiming, unfortunately, doesn't seem to work as I get dragged off to the side. Thank you SOOO much for your informative and thoughtful response. People like you make me and other new players want to keep at it and help showcase what a beacon of human decency the DBD community is.

Any bets on how many more Git Gud/Console bads replies we can get folks?

I love how ppl always AiM bEttEr and the "non-existent" autoaim pulls my weapon to a invisible object/pallet/wall like there's a black hole attracting it.

Clearly your subconscious feels bad about killing these poor innocent survivors so when you swing, it twitches your arm muscle and makes you swing wide!

OT: I've found not lunging to be the only reliable way to not get autoaim screwed. It sucks because it burns a few extra seconds but if you're having trouble with a specific person who is really good at it, you're better taking the extra few seconds to not lunge.

Don't lunge unless you need to. Regular swing has a wider arc.

It sucks, but it's what is console players have to deal with.

What works for me is not lunging, wait until you are pretty much touching the survivor and then with a basic attack the spin is much easier to deal with. Take this with a grain of salt because I play on PC and I'm not sure how useful that is on controler.

On the survivor side what you are supposed to do is spin you character one way and the camera the other. Takes a bit of practice to pull it off though, it's not that simple.

You need to be a little more patient before you swing and do not lunge.

console killers have to fight the game itself as much as the survivors - the controller, the frame drops and worse auto-aim make everything much harder than being a pc killer. Honourable mention to the suggestions of "just get a pc"

@ OP I dunno how exactly to describe it but once they started spinning or wiggling I usually pulled back slightly and to one side while lunging, that can work. Just pray that aim-sabotage doesn't force you to attack the nearest pallet instead.

The easiest way that I counter is fake like your gonna hit and then by the time they are back in front you can get one. Doesn't work 100% of the time and takes some practice. If this doesn't work I apologize.

as im not a console player i cant really give you many tipps here.

the only thing i can give you is that a normal attack (no lunge attack) is not 360able. so if you struggle with getting spun and they are out in the open, walk up to them and hit them with just tapping the button.

"don't lunge" is the simplest advice that can be given here. Hell I play on PC and almost never lunge anyway unless I have to at a window or pallet or after a dead hard, or if I can see they're not lagging. The only time I'll lunge no matter what is windstorm lunging as Wraith.

I've been playing for 2 years and this stuff gets me constantly. It's a genuine problem with console play IMO.
