Question for PS4 users that changed their names
Did your data get reset or did you keep all of your content? I've been skeptical on changing my name for some time now out of fear of losing my stuff lol

No issues here at all

Changed my name about 3 weeks ago and my stuff was all good. I saw Dead By Daylight on the list of games that don’t get affected by name changes on PS4.

Did you keep your old name, and are you able to switch back and forth between names... also, how many total names are you allowed to/able to create?

If you go into options and scroll down there is a cloud ID or something at the bottom.
That's what your progression is tied to, not your name.

You can change your name first time for free, any additional changes have a cost, and I think it can only be changed a maximum of once every 24 hours.
No, you can’t switch names back and forth once it’s changed. Once it’s changed, it’s changed.
Sony do warn that some games may not be supported, and it may interfere with saved progress for some games. I’m yet to encounter any of these potential issues, with the only minor thing for me being Street Fighter 5. I still have all of my saved progress, but it still retains my original name, but this is most likely due to having had to create a Fighter Profile name that gets saved to Capcom’s Fighter Network servers (CFN). I’m not sure if I can do much about that and haven’t investigated it.

You can change back to any name you have had previously at any time for free.

Really? Ok I didn’t know that. Thanks.

Same, I've been wanting to change my user name on PS4 but was scared off by stories of losing game licenses. Any special way to avoid that issue, or is it straight forward to switch?
@Rareware0192 where can I find a list of games that aren't affected by name change?

Alright, thanks for the confidence... been debating the name change for a year, now

No issues. Kept everything.

You'd keep everything. Content is tied to email, not player ID
