Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Dear survivors, do something, ANYTHING please!

The amount of people who just stand around doing nothing for large stretches of the trial amazes me sometimes.

Now I don’t care if I “win,” or escape as survivor I just hope for a good game. And I’m not blaming cross play solely because some has been PC teammates too but it’s increased recently.

Im talking about being on the hook with Kindred, one teammate being chased literally across the map, one hiding in a locker still, and the other crouch walking over to save me after I reach second stage.

Or running a killer with Bond and seeing a teammate following behind the chase without a flashlight.

Or working on a gen while a teammate crouches right next to me waiting for a moment to go make a save... if you’re going to wait I understand but you are literally next to a gen just hold m1.

I don’t condone it, but I can certainly see why survivors DC or off themself on first hook.

Yeah, I don't know what it is but lately, I seem to get nothing but players who just hide.

I can loop like a God for once in my pathetic DBD life and kill two minutes of the killers precious time and see ZERO gens pop for all my effort. People hiding in lockers and not moving. People hiding in the corner when someone gets hooked. Just a bunch of players who thought this was a Hide & Go Seek game instead of DBD.

    I just don't get it...

I'm not RR1 anymore but I'm still a solid PR5, as are my teammates. These people shouldn't be as timid as a brand new YR20 kid in their first match!

Yep, I understand sometimes avoiding the chase altogether is a good idea especially if you aren’t good at looping yet. Or against strong chase killers.

But I’m on a gen with a teammate and then another survivor brings the killer justttttttt close enough to hear the heartbeat and all of a sudden I’m on the gen alone. I see my teammate go hide in the bushes 10 feet away. Either stay on the gen or go away, like far enough away to find a gen you feel safer on.

Ahhh, perhaps a bit unrelated, but I had a match yesterday where I hadn't been hooked all game. My teammate was on her second hook and we were against a hag. This hag had hooked her inside a main building and trapped it from all sides while patrolling. One of our other teammates was dead, and I figured the last Claudette was on a gen. We only had one left and I hadn't seen her in a while.

So I'm doing my stealthy thing, trying to figure out a good point to run up and grab her. Hag seemed to be patrolling in a circle, so once she passed again I rushed up preparing to crab walk, only for her to have turned around and I almost ran into her. Took her on a chase, the teammate hooked died, and I was eventually downed. I finally see the Claudette and it looks like she's just hiding by the door, moving about to keep crows from spawning. I tried to unhook myself, no kobe, and since this Claudette seemed like a filthy door camper, I held on all through second phase.

Low and behold, through spectator cam, I see she is stuck on a hill. Crows never spawned, some how, but again she appeared to be constantly trying to move, though I've done that and still had crows. She died to EGC. I couldn't ask her if the killer knew she was stuck there since she was crossplay, but the killer said they had no idea, apologizing, though that's not their fault.

Dev's, please, fix the hill. The next killer is suppose to be the Blight, the Hill was last Chapter. Let the survivor do something.

This is why I usually play with another friend. That way, I at least have a reliable teammate who I can communicate with to manage saves. We're also not trying to be ultra sweaty by running DS, DH, BT and Unbreakable, we're here to have fun and not to win. My friend is less experienced than I am and playing with him is not only fun, but I try to teach him all of the perks that we encounter during trial, where the loops are, which perks he can use to aid in counterplay, how to work around a killer's power and helping him understand add ons. Only time I promote toxic behaviour to him is when I discourage him to save someone, but that someone is usually the blendette who is scared of being chased and doing generators while using every pallet in the match.

So yeah, if you see a blendette in trouble, you are in no way obliged to help them. Just leave them. Even the Steam game description states that you can play selfish if you want to, just keep in mind which behaviour is going to help you win. Good news is, if blendettes keep crouching without being chased, they don't bring any skill to the table, meaning that when MMR returns, you will have less blendettes playing with you if you play well. At least, that's what I hope and think.

enjoying the survivor crossplay experience I see lmao. I started doing it too once I started seeing red rank killers, it's just not much fun. crossplay gave me the luxury of dodging lobbies on killers, and being able to have some fun matches as killer but it's really sharted on my survivor experiences. and I prefer to play survivor stills ince killer is still stressful just to know i am about to go into queue for it, it's ingrained in me now. so I prefer survivor.

One of my hiders turned out to be stuck on the hill so I mentally took back all the mean things I mentally thought at them :D

But most I've found are either directly hiding (as in, they pitched a tent and are having s'mores in a locker) or hiding in the corner of the map. There are exceptions like the poor bastard stuck in the hill but I've found they are exactly that; the exceptions, not the rule. It's just been the last like...week so i don't know if I'm just noticing it now and it's always kind of been like this or if I'm getting bad games or what...

Just another reason why I SWF.

You can't pick your family or your randoms, but you can certainly pick your swfmates!

Same. In my mind, I was calling them all sorts of rude things. Then I was like "Oop."

And agreed. They are def the exception, but I've lost so many matches to people, or myself a couple of times, getting stuck. I just avoid hills altogether for now.

-Complains about teammates not doing anything

-Totally okay with teammates DCing/killing themselves on the first hook.

    Weird.

This is the reason people play swf

You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose... but you can't pick your friend's nose.

Unfortunately the spike in larger swf grouping lately is probably related tot he spike in slugging, tunneling, and camping I've been experiencing. I haven't even been having as much fun as survivor lately between that and nothing but red rank killers the last couple of days I played, and until recently I've very rarely been tilted as survivor but when there's nearly ten minute queues on top of it I've found myself being tilted lately even on survivor.

I’m not okay with it, I still said I don’t do it myself. But faced with the prospect of a 20 minute Legion game where you do gens whole your teammates constantly self heal I said I can see why people want out.

Definitely the exception, most times the story ends like you’d expect... that blendette is literally not going to try to save anyone else and had been playing for the hatch since the game started

I saw a guy named DO A GEN ... I'm considering doing that for survivor games too. I'm not great but rank reset really hurt, it's all timid skulkers who don't do ######### now.

And I feel we’re back to players who refuse to do gens until Ruin is found... watching half your team skulking while you and one other do 4 gens is frustrating. Then you hear Ruin pop as you’re being chased by the killer...

Ugh if you had spent even half the time on a gen that you did looking for ruin the gates would be powered.

I'll take the survivors who do nothing over the survivors who farm you off the hook. I can't get 2 feet from the hook without getting downed again because my teammates don't know how to do a safe save.

I'd prefer farmers over people who do nothing the whole game. Most killers won't even chase you out of fear of BT/DS and I also run UB/DS/SB/something else most of the time so I can usually get away from the hook and loop the killer and 59 second DS them if they try to tunnel

That’s fair but if the killer is across the map...

me too, give me a chance to Sprint burst or dead hard to safety. I’ll take a short second chase over getting one hooked any day

That Irks me so much! I'm a terrible looper, but when I have my moment to have the killer focused on me for 2 minutes, I expect to see a gen be completed. I feel like time and effort was wasted and my chase was for nothing.

As someone who makes content in solo queue, I agree. It really sucks looping the killer for over 5 minutes and only for one gen to pop.
