Balancing and Problem Acknowledgement
Alright, I'm gonna keep this as short as I can cause I don't have the time to write an essay's worth of information.
For some time now, I have been noticing that there is a barrier on how information is passed between the community and the developer team, and I wanted to ask:
Why is it that important information, including balancing is seemingly neglected, or just left unnoticed? Is it something with the team, or is it simply that it isn't cared for.
For example, in an earlier Q&A, a question was asked about Object of Obsession (credit to the man Scott Jund for making a video about the question), and if any changes would be made to it. Almo responded to the question with this:
" So I went and took a look at the recent statistics on this thing (Object of Obsession) and its not used very often, and the survivors that use it don't have a particularly high escape rate, so it doesn't seem like its an amazingly effective perk."
Now, as mentioned in the video by Scott and the numerous amount of smart and experienced players within this community, Almo is statistically correct on Object, but the bigger picture is missed; Object is used because it offers an insane amount of information to Survive With Friends teams, and puts the killer at a large disadvantage when used by a team.
Overall, the main question is, why are problems like Object left unnoticed, undiscussed, or neglected. What is restricting the team from making proper changes for the sake of balancing. If situations like these continue to happen, then the balancing problem, and others like it within Dead by Daylight, will only worsen.

Wow. That's crazy. Is that really all they take into account when it comes to re-balancing perks? They're totally missing the big picture. The person who shows their aura to the Killer dies more often: Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Especially since they're tunneled often. I'm more curious to know about the survival rate of people in the same trial who are NOT using that perk. It's crazy to me that Almo only said "hmm, the person that has the "tunnel me or lose" perk doesn't escape super often, that perk is probably fine". LOL
I know it's just one quote out of context but if that's really as nuanced as their thinking is, it goes to show why this game is such a frustrating mess most of the time.

Exactly, and something that I found dumb is that they have actually changed a perk beforehand because of the bigger picture, that perk being Dying Light. It wasn't a great perk and you didn't win often with it, but even so it promoted tunneling, which is why they changed it.
