Explain This Mindset to Me
First Game: Enters The Game as Freddy, go up against SWF. Four DS, unbreakable, all on PC, they have an Object of Obsession calling out all of my movements. I predictably get looped and violated the entire match as the killer. I finally manage to take to the hook but only get a mori at the very end. One guy body blocks for his two wounded comrades and they escape.
Aftergame Chat: "GG", "G.G." , etc
Second Game: Enters the Game as Freddy. Same deal, but only two have DS and unbreakable. Their OoO has a flashlight and thinks they're a god. I manage to get three kills and the last person makes it to the hatch.
Aftergame Chat: "You salty?", "Who hurt you?", "Looped for days!", etc.
.....Why does this happen? They literally played with a stacked deck in their hand and still cry after the game. I mean if you can just watch the killer the entire game and call out every single thing I do the entire time to your buddies, then how is that even fair to begin with?

SWF is overpowered to the point that they expect to win every game and when they lose they think you cheated them then complain to no end.
Its simply people feeling entitled to win due to bad balance.

In the second scenario, they were just mad that you killed most of them. They recognized that they lost and to make themselves feel better, they tried to put you down. Don't let it get to you.

What happens in most competitive games, they lost and got frustrated about it. Those in scenario 2 likely would say GG WP if they all escaped. As experience would also tell me that scenario 1 has a good chance of having sore losers if they died. It's fairly standard in most games, even those that aren't asymmetrical like DBD.

I got the latter after I shattered a green rank lobby right after reset (I'm a red rank killer). I was sort of on autopilot and I assumed they were going to be sweaty and I consistently had 2 people hooked at a time that round.
I think the reality of survivor vs. killer hasn't set in for them and you know when you're a new killer you want to be nice and play by the survivor's rulebook. (Says the guy who is very, very capricious I know lol).
They volunteered to be a killer's dog toy and are shocked when they get torn up by an experienced doggo. Why did the doggo bite me I don't understand. Right friends? Yes yes.
The only correct thing to do is press on them harder until they understand they need to escape the trial. Not derp around because they have friends in the game with them.

It's just to patch their wounded ego. I wouldn't worry about it too much, they just need to make you feel small because they made themselves feel bad by massively underperforming.
I hope you have a nicer day moving forward with nicer opponents than that.

I feel like it's not really a loss though. I mean one at least got away, and I did use a mori so it wasn't like it was for nothing. But that thing about them expecting to always win makes sense. I don't know how killers normally 4k against OoO teams.
0 -
That's what gets me about both teams: they were both red ranked except for one guy on the second team.

The fact that you're making this post shows you've given them exactly what they want
to get under your skin
3 -
Yeah I guess it did. I thought I did really good, and they did really good too but I don't think surprising when they have communications on the whole team and can see me at all times.

When you get a 4K they won't reply with a GG
0 -
You can't expect anyone to be nice after they lost and you won, a lot of people don't take losses well in any game they play.
0 -
What do you mean mindset? They are trying to tilt you.
That's it, that's the extent of it. A mix of creating self aggrandizing false statements and general obnoxious phrases that are passive aggressive enough that they cannot be reported; solely to upset or bother you because they lost the match or are just bitter people in general.
That's it, that's all there is to unravel there. I don't know what you're expecting for an answer here you probably already knew that; did you want like, approval or something? Idk what to tell you my dude, some people are just going to be like that, especially online with anonymity.
2 -
Insight into what constitutes fair. They thought I was bad because I was taking too long on loops and used a mori(even though they're nerfed now), I think they're not so great because a SWF with OoO is about the best situation you could hope for. I mean it's almost cheating. If someone said they had a cheat that could see the killer through walls at all times you'd say that's BS, but we call that OoO and it's supposedly an even match. I just don't buy into that either.
"my dude"
Please stop this trend. It's gotta go.

I'll stop it for you if you prefer people not address you that way of course; you don't get to dictate mine, or any body else's speech however. It doesn't work that way.
Anyways, as I said, you're looking for something far beyond what's going on. You won't get blood from a stone. Nothing in your scenario has anything to do with any of that, or fairness, or balance or anything- it's purely behavioural and nothing more.

Heh, you're one of those guys that does all that aren't you? Be honest.

Generally, if a survivor doesn't escape, on their mind there are 4 excuses:
My team sucked
The killer got lucky
The killer camped/sugged/tunneled/used op perks/add-ons
Killer sided map gg devs fix your game
In this scenario, the survivor side belied theyre gods and thought that you just got lucky.
On the second scenario, the swf realised that both you and they are mortals, so even tho you lost they kept their sportsmanship. I do believe that even if they 4man escape, the swf would shitalk.
But that's simply my opinion on the matter.

I'm not sure there's much to explain.
People lose => People get salty.
It's been like this since forever in every kind of competition.
Videogames only exacerbate the issue because it's easy to talk smack behind a screen.

Probably annoyed because Freddy isn’t fun to fight against or that their buddies died

"I do believe that even if they 4man escape, the swf would shitalk."
I believe this could be true. People are just going to act the same way either way. I notice a lot of times when I try to be nice they're intent on what their original thought was anyways.
I didn't think Freddy was that annoying. :(

So it sounds like most people in this thread would agree that one kill is not a win for killer, but three kills is a win. I'll take that.

Some people learn from their mistakes and losses. They get better. Some people look for scapegoats, i.e. something or someone to blame other than themselves. They improve less quickly (if at all). Just record your games, and if the salt crosses the line, report it. Let the stuff that doesn't cross the line roll off your back like water. Or, take it as a compliment. Their bad sportsmanship should not tilt you. Just let it go.

You're not saying the "gg's" end game chat was toxic, were you?
0 -
its not I only use that perk as a solo and even when I use it in a set I don't even tell my teammates where the killer is because I just don't see the point. The only time I do that is if they ask me. Me and my friends don't really sweat THAT bad and me running object is just because im the best looper in the group that I play with. But yeah it really needs a change

Because it's a PvP game.
Not everyone handles loss equally, both Killers and Survivors. It has nothing to do with roles, it has to do with the player themselves.
