Wraith will become dangerous when he gets buffed

It's so sad to see people still think thana got nerfed.
New thana is better then old thana in almost every scenario. Marginally better, barrely noticable. But still better. Do the math if you don't believe me.
The only time old thana was better is when all survivors stop doing gens and constantly heal at which point you should already have won
Also 1 person won't be the difference of decision making in this game even if that person plays for a living. Especially with how much BHVR likes to work with statistics

I lov Mr Bing Bong, he is the first killer I 'mained' in DBD. Im still playing him a lot and yes, he is not the strongest killer in DBD and very add on dependant. BUT I dont wanna a major buff to him tbh. His add ons are totally fine and I dont wanna get them touched. If the Devs buff him too much (like true invisibility) too many players will start to main Mr Bing Bong and we will see him in 4/5 matches... as it was after Fred´s rework (now Fred is in a good balanced spot, but Forever Fred was too much). I dont wanna that happen to Mr B. A slight buff like 5% more basekit speed while cloaked would be ok as long his max speed with double windstorm (I believe 160%) wouldnt be changed.

U can be sad all u want. But old thana helps a lot, especially the weak Legion.
There was no buff to it. They just removed the healing part. Now it sucks and not many ppl use it.

Uh killers don't need perks to win bud. Nor do survivors. They make it easier, but aren't needed.

He is only good against newbies, who don't know how to loop. He has no map pressure and he's just an M1 killer, 1-2 good loopers can juke him for 2-4 gens.
I think giving him more invisibility will only make him even more powerfull against potatos. Wraith needs something against looping.
3 -
Agreed. But if devs stop nerfing perks, wraith can be viable. He is weak, so rely on meta perks.

I main Legion and i actually done the math.
Not completly correct but a very simplified way to see it is that 4% of 80 charges gen time is more then 16% of 16 charges healtime.
New thana is better then old thana unless survivors drop everything to heal and in that scenario you would win no matter which thana you use
I really wish some people would actually think about things instead of just blindly following the mass

No, giving wraith full invisibility is bad because it will only hurt baby survivors who are already struggling against him duo to his stealth abilities. What they need to do is give wraith base windstorm ability, at least 10% more speed while cloaked and faster cloaking so he can use his power more in actual chase to cover lost distance.

All-seeing blood + coxcombed clapper/bone clapper is one of the best setups for any killer in the game. easily better than any scratched mirror or amandas letter setup, and is only countered by big wide open maps and spine chill

All they need to do for wraith is make it so he can fly, if you really think about it he doesn't need much more than that 🤔

I agree with your opinions on Wraith but after seeing this guy (Isn't he in charge of balance?) play like a Rank20 Survivor I have some deep concerns with how this game is getting adjusted.

Good. Wraith is a low tier and pretty boring killer to play as and versus. He doesn't have much in his kit to help him.
0 -
A decent chance against a top SWF means a sure win for anything less.
A game dies when you balance around the top and is unwelcoming for the majority.
1 -
Pyramid and doctor have a decent chance against swfs but can still lose if the player is not good
0 -
He'll still be a killer who can't efficiently down survivors who are playing well.
0 -
Hit and run is a viable strategy you don't really Chase with him
0 -
Ok kid. Killers need perks against survivors nowadays. Except killers like nurse, spirit etc. But nice try. If you win against survivors with no perks, they were potatoes lol
1 -
Wraith is terrible without addons and even then its a challenge against competent survivors.
0 -
Tru3 didn't have any hand in getting it nerfed, also that playstyle he claims he "invented" was already a thing since Nurse was released. Thana nerf was just another tweak to an annoying perk.

My only hope is that he doesn't become even more hit and run than he already is, because that would honestly just be really boring. I would rather not have a killer who is reliant on a certain playstyle to win.
0 -
Lol what? Wraith is not good in chase this is literally the best way to play him why would you downgrade to different playstyle? Oni is made for slugging because if you don't slide you lose the game to good players
0 -
Difference is you don't need to slug to win or do well as oni. Wraith is reliant on hit and run, otherwise he's literally an m1 killer who has a chance of getting a free hit here and there. Ghostface on the other hand is not reliant on this playstyle, and that's what i think wraith should be more like.
0 -
Have you played oni at a high level against actual good survivors? If you down someone with your power and immediately pick them up you're back to a m1 killer. Noone does that unless in certain situations
0 -
No but I have watched and seen gameplay from the highest oni downs player in the world (who doesn't use infectious and slugs minimally), and from what i've seen he does more than fine.
Picking survivors up actualyl saves ur power so ur able to go into it far more easily and need far less blood. Slugging can even backfire if you aren't careful and just waste ur power and loose ur down.
(Actually why did i say no, yes ofcourse i've played plent of red rank oni, it's not hard to not slug)

Yeah, it's a little weird how Spirit kinda does everything he does but better. Or at least, everything important.
Invisibility? Wraith's got Halo 1 invisibility, you don't even know if Spirit's invisible or not.
Wraith gives a warning before attacking, Spirit doesn't.
Wraith takes 3 seconds before he can actually do his attack, all the while he's slowed. Spirit can do it instantly and lunge for days.
Wraith needs addons to have decent map coverage, Spirit is Spirit.
Wraith CAN see survivors while invisible, but.. y'know, that's not exactly a very big problem for good spirits. Just use ears.
He could do with a solid change.

Another tweak to a annoying perk?
I guess we need more annoying perks.

My spine chill says no

Basically all competitive game are balanced for the top player... Counter Strike, StartCraft, Warcraft, Smite, League of Legend, DotA etc. and all of these game have a healthy low skill player base.

playing wraith at rank 1 in the current meta if u dont have a very gen defense build, very good addons and even then, if they are decent you are just gonna have a misserable experience, it will be very hard to win and even if u do it just was a misserable experience for you and stressfull,. dont get me wrong i like challenges and he is one of those few killers taht actually requires a lot of work from you to win, but not feeling like a potato bag for survivors....he needs a buff.
2 -
This isn't Counter Strike.
It's a weird asymmetrical experience where each side is playing a very different game. And calling for it to be balanced like a competitive game fails to understand why they can balance it like that so effectively: Because both sides are equal, RNG is absolutely minimal, and outside forces don't influence the outcome of the match.
None of that is true for Dead by Daylight. But most importantly, that the sides aren't equal.
There's no hardcore Radiant or Dire mains in DotA. When you change Chen's map teleport based off tournament usage, it's a flat change that effects every single player equally. But you can't DO that in this game. Every change tips the precocious balance between Killer and Survivor and I don't envy the absolute nightmare Devs have to deal with to maintaining it "the right way" while everyone screams at them. And what's even a win? How can you even balance around wins when we don't even know what that is?
Top SWFs, absolute tippy top SWFs, abuse an admittedly broken combo that must be changed, but aside from that, simply optimize their play in such a way that they've effectively taken fun out of the equation for maximum efficiency. Almost EVERYONE else doesn't play like that-- solo queueing, duo SWF queueing, saving, healing, grabbing chests, doing totems, getting chased, going for plays, so many other things than just doing gens as fast as conceivably possible, all while items are brought from outside the game and map RNG has potentially tipped the scales one way or the other.
And the kill rate is still good. Newer killers dominate newer survivors, and things start evening out in the middle and later half.
Now, what do you think is gonna happen if you balance around the top player and make their efficiency less efficient?

I think the reason why this post is mentioning Thana is that it is talking about the perk in respect to Famous Wraith build done by a famous streamer named Tru3ta1ent. In Wraith's case, he used the perk for indirect lethality and information through the perk Nurse's Calling. The part that your missing is that if you hit a survivor twice, hook them and than find them again as injured as Wraith, you save so much time in the chase that any time saved from slower repairs is straight up meaningless. This true for for all killers, faster downs are better than slowing generator down. Moral of the story is that he popularized a strategy & play-style that was already discovered and known from Scratch Mirror Myers on indoor maps to be applicable on all maps. Its not really that powerful more so than just tutorial to play Wraith properly without much reward.
Even as Legion, Its not that amazing considering that Legion still has to activate his power, hit the survivor, let the survivor gain sprint burst, run up to them, suffer a 4 second fatigue such that health states are still a small time sink and that there are better perks to slow generators down than Thana(Undying+Ruin comes to mind). Like Pop goes weasel, the perk was intentionally made to be weaker after the patch. Legion used to use the perk for same reason than they made his power a special attack so that the perk sloppy butcher cannot be applied with his power to be fused with this perk. funny how all perks that belong to Nurse have historically been complained about in one form or another. Stridor Spirit, Old Nurse calling going from 32 meters to 28 meters and Thana.

He doesn’t need to be literally invisible, but it would be nice to have one killer that is totally immune to spine chill, at least.
