Archie Macmillan loved or hated by son?

It says that Evan had admired his father (Archie Macmillan) but then later he is left/found in a basement? I thought Evan and his dad were best buds.. 👉👈

Also is it a theory that the in game lore displayed for players to read while waiting for a lobby to join is not to be trusted because its actually the Entity relaying that information?

    Evan probably wasn't in the best mental state at the time, and for all we know The Entity might've influenced him to kill his father. I think there was another discussion about this that had a good answer, but I can't remember what it was. As for the second question, I doubt it.

    I think is a mix of both. As seen in the tomes, Evan had very complicated feelings towards his father, first hating him for his abuse, but eventually started to admire and respect his authority, but he may never have lost that hatred for his father. So he adopted his phylosofy of “the weak are just worms that you can crush and abuse at will”, which Evan enforced on the workers at first...and perhaps he started to project on his father after he started becoming senile.

    And regardless of what caused the mass murder of the workers, I think that was the last straw for Evan, that finally decided to take care of his father, maybe out of revenge for his abuse, maybe because he was no longer the powerful man that he admired or maybe he just wanted to mercy kill his father.
