Anyone else tired of linked weapons..?
I sure as heck am...these linked cosmetics have lost any real color for me because if I don't like the weapon or only like the weapon im screwed..and there's no reason they need to be part of the link, the killer holds the weapon the same exact way, there's no new animations, nothing..I remember asking about this a while back and the devs kind of side stepped the question..do we have a real answer now?

Yep.. I wanted the blighted weapon for ghostface.. I think the rest of the outfit is ugly so haven't bought it.

The answer is $$$ obviously. They charge extra for the weapon, and force you to buy it if you want the other stuff.

It's pretty much the same issue for linked heads on the survivor side.

I love the different weapons for pyramid head but the rest of the outfits are mediocre at best. I wish they would just make us buy the whole set but let us mix them up so we get our cosmetics and they get their money.

there are a few characters where i can understand why they linked them together, characters like Pyramid Head where its a licensing problem that forces the Devs to link the outfit together / when the outfit features a weapon that has a clear connection to the killers body (e.g. i could see them making a Doc cosmetic where the end of his stick has a hose that goes to a backpack he is wearing)
but i fully agree on a lot of the other skins, where there is no real reason for the weapon being linked to the set other than "well, its a linked set so that includes the weapon".

It was obvious at the start that it should be linked only when it justified. For example Nea's Graff-Crafter should be only linked as head and torso with pants separated. Jane's Goddess Muse should be only linked as torso and legs with head separated. Killer's weapons are linked for no reason. Most of silent hill cosmetics are linked without good reason, except legendary character replace sets.
I don't know if it difficult to fix, but sets are inconvinient at current state.

Any outfit featuring this symbol is considered a "Linked Set". Linked cosmetics can only be used alongside the other linked cosmetics in their set.
For killers, this means that fancy weapons used as part of these sets are ONLY available while using that entire skin (such as with Oni's Minotaur outfit). For the most part, there's not really a good reason why any of the current linked weapons should be limited like this, hence why people have been complaining about it.

I would have bought Legion's Robbie the Rabbit weapon if i could use just the weapon but BVHR says no.

IMO BHVR makes less money with the Sets. Because if someone only likes the weapon but not the Outfit, they will not buy it, which means that BHVR misses out on people who would spend 400 ACs.
If anything, Sets would make them less money.

Yeah there's no reason to link all 3 pieces when its unnecessary
I would've bought Jane's Goddess outfit if I could use only the head,oh well their loss.
