To all killer mains!!!!! YOU CAN BLOCK A SURVIVOR FROM USING A KEY ON THE HATCH!!!
Here's the video evidence,
I saw video where some trappers would place a trap in front of the hatch to trap a survivor using a key on it, so I always been curious if you can body block for the same result, and it definitely seems like it!
I have no 100% evidence that the key Dwight had wasn't a green one, but the fact he was running towards the shack, that he tbagged and ran straight for the hatch and stayed there the whole time really makes me believe he had a purple or pink one, try it out yourself in future games to see if you can body block the hatch from survivors with keys and let me know if it actually works or he just had a green key.

If you are a regular killer and not KILLER MAIN you can't close the hatch?
Gotcha.

Skip to 13:30 to see evidence.
Side note, can't wait to see keys nerfed. As someone who plays both sides they're pretty OP, and abudant since the mori nerf. Ideally a key would just let one survivor go, or at least have a slow unlock animation like opening a chest :/ tactics like what Ace and Dwight had here are just scummy and unfair to a well played game.

dude don't start with that 🙄

that looks like evidence but if we check very carefully she is blocking the PATH to the hatch and not the hatch itself, but it realy looks like she is indeed stopping the ace from using his key, so that's great news! :D

Not really a hatch standoff, cos if you're the last one alive and the killer has closed the hatch the EGC will have started so the game will end - it's not the same where both players could stand by the hatch indefinitely for long periods.
The only time I can see there being an issue is if a group of survivors want to escape with the hatch (3 for example, with the 4th one dead), with a key and there's still gens to be done - and that way, the survivors can still run away and repair the gens...killer can still hit the survivors if they are around the hatch, even with the cooldown period there's not going to be chance for every survivor to escape and the killer can then close the hatch again, if someone did use the key.

She's standing on top of the hatch. Ace can't open it with the key because he has to be on top of it/it has to be unobstructed. She cut off their path a few times but at first it was bodyblocking.

thats nice and all, but i dont really see why this is any useful to me.
the only time this would work is when i already killed 3 people and closed hatch, at which point i already won - plus smart survivors will realize im camping hatch and go and open a gate.
even if i saw them, unless i have an active NOED, this, again, doesnt help as they can just go to a gate outside my LoS and force me to guess whether they are actually doing the gate or hiding around me waiting for me to leave my spot so they can open the hatch and leave that way (turning it into a 50/50 scenario)
and if its not this scenario, then i'll just spend all my time standing on hatch like an idiot while the remaining survivors just do their gens and leave through a gate.
i also cant attack the key survivor, as they would then lose their collision with me and just open the hatch anyway, so EGC or an active NOED (or other exposed ability) is mandatory to killing them (stalking once again doesnt work as killers lose their collision when stalking).
so unless its a very specific scenario, this knowledge doesnt really help me.

You actually can bodyblock the hatch by standing by the side with the keyhole on the hatch, you don't actually need to even touch the hatch. Really good thing to know when only one survivor with a key is left and both the survivor and killer find the hatch first.
There are plenty chances to outplay each other too, the survivor can try to bait the exit gate and either commit and open it, or try to go back and reach hatch before the killer can block it again and use the key, while the killer can always keep an eye on the survivor but also stay between the hatch and the survivor and either bait a gate grab or time them out via EGC (ofc insta downs also solve this without the need to time out survivors, not much the survivor can do at that point once they are found though).
As killer I had a few people DC that tried to BM me on hatch and got timed out instead, one of the best feelings in a while honestly.

I have seen Wraiths body block the hatch in stealth.
