I think I know a Reason why survivor Queues take a while
I think by now we have realized that finding a survivor game takes a while longer than playing killer.
Consoles Players
I think most Console players are avoiding playing killer (Myself Included). The fps is so bad on most killers, especially on Blight. I am starting to realize that PS4 and Xbox one players are going to have to be stuck with whatever we are given by the Devs. Kinda sad that this topic hasn’t been brought up in a while and how that massive thread explaining how this game is on console was pretty much ignored. I don’t have too much hope that the Devs will bring up this topic as they pretty much avoid it.
Would be neat to see the Devs play on those platforms. I don’t know how it runs on the PS5 and XSX so I can’t speak for those, it could be a while till most of us upgrade.

This is the major reason why survivor queues take longer. While the killer-survivor ratio on PC is pretty balanced, other platforms aren't as much.
Before cross-play, you would have certain platforms complaining about 15 minute queues. Now everybody is complaining about 5-10 minute queues. Although I guess during the day time, survivor queues are still instant.

well enjoy cause its on discount meaning alot of rank 20's that dont know how to play the game :/ I'm too nice to play killer against them :S

Definitely more survivors now. It doesn't matter what rank my killer is; first match of the night is always reds and purple rank survivors because of wait times.

Yeah, they are pretty much close to instant during the day as for the night, not so much. I do think that no game should ever make you wait that long to play.
I was very disappointed when cross play was introduced first before actually optimizing the game on the PS4 and Xbox, very bad move on the Devs.

The survivor queues change dramatically based on the time of day you are on as well. For me in the states, during the day, the survivor queues are faster (assuming less SWF) at night more friends play as groups, which takes away from the player base of killers, and I know some killers don't want to play killer when there is a higher percentage of SWF

I don't usually have Issues with fps (Xbox One here) but when I do, it's BAD. So I do think that's a factor, but it's honestly seeing keys, flashlight clicking, teabagging, and just all-around annoying survivors every other match that pushed me to get used to playing survivor - and once I did, I finally felt like I could relax and play matches without rolling my eyes at seeing the same stuff most of the time.
Maybe it's just bad luck on my end, but playing killer just became irritating and more like a chore than anything. When I play survivor I'm not on my toes every second of every match and it feels great. I still play killer but probably not more than like five matches at a time. I'm just burnt out from it and I think a lot of people feel the same way

The later it is for your region, the worse queue times are. I've had my Survivor games take up to 20min for a game, but Killer is still less than 20 seconds.

You could be right, I don't know. But I don't get too many crossplay players in my matches so I would think it's not a big deal.
Unless the algorithm is screwed up due to including crossplay in the matchmaking pool.
But your explanation is as good as any, I never had issues finding survivor games back before crossplay. I used to get survivor lobbies instantly. These days I get a game in about a minute, 5 minutes during peak time. I'll try disabling crossplay and see how it works out.

This, the fps is horrendous... Makes going up against survivors who spin around in front of you swing and miss like 10× cause from my perspective I see 2 frames per second of the survivor to react and it's impossible. It's literally a joke that this has gone for so long unfixed. Especially on the silent hill map, frames drop so nasty... You would think the only way for the killer to apply any pressure is to get up close to a survivor after a hard chase and for it to be impossible to hit them literally 1 cm away from you it's a freakin' clown show, like it should be a guaranteed hit if the are literally touching your body, should be a on command hit not a wonky pray you hit them hitbox BS system.

I’ve played PS4 and PS5. PS5 is much better. You’re still a bit hamstrung by the bad controller controls (this game clearly wasn’t made with console in mind and they’ve made absolutely no effort to update the controls since then), but the FPS is very smooth and consistent and it feels a lot nicer to play.
A lot of the console ports’ major problems seem to be better with the new gen consoles, but like you said, it will be a while before most people switch. :/

Fix console? Nahhhhhhh, it's not a hot topic or complained about in the majority of the community, so even though it needs to be fixed, it won't.

Yeah, playing killer isn’t very fun (especially at the high ranks). If you don’t have at least 1 slowdown perk, the game will go crazy fast. The Devs should really look into giving killers some type of early slowdown or add default perks that every killer can get access too. Majority of Slowdown perks have to be brought or are a grind to get.

True. If you turn off crossplay on PC when you play survivor, you'll find lobbies much quicker.
But another reason is also the increased amount of survivor players and swf's in the evening. While I find survivor lobbies pretty fast in the morning it takes a very long time in the evening.

Yes! This and grabs screw me over so many times. I have also noticed that indoor maps run like garbage, stack an indoor map and a killer that drops frames, it’ll be one hell of a slide show.

Yeah, I’ve heard it’s really good on new gen consoles. Makes me want to try it out but boy are they hard to come by.

They’re like gold dust, it’s pretty ridiculous. If I could let you borrow mine I happily would. :(

It's not just console players...
There's more survivor players to match up with less killer players
