MMR is Disgusting lol
I just had a match on a team of rank 15-20 at rank 4 and depipped because I was on first hook and nobody knew how to save me... :). I seriously cannot believe that half of my depips at this point are because I get matched with teammates who are either new to the game or not sure what to do in certain situations!! I don't hate them either, I have played with some amazing low rank teammates who deserve to move up in the system, but it was very obvious they didn't know what to do. Sorry to vent, I love being positive on here but this is ridiculous!

I get you, I just had a horrible match, I'm rank 1 vs rank 15,18 like bro no just no, I ended up apologizing to them.
But I think mmr is not on, but I could be wrong.

WAIT YOU CAN TURN IT ON AND OFF???? Or am I dumb and they disabled it??? Either way I need it in my life these matches have been giving me hardcore red rank teams with low rank killers, or entirely low rank teammates with low rank killers and it's not challenging enough and I feel bad!

Mmr is something the devs enable and disable, they disabled it a while ago I'm unsure if they have turned it on again but judging from the matches I've been getting I feel like the mmr is on.
And so far for me as killer, I've been getting mostly yellow or gray rank and when I play survivor mostly purple ranks or green.

Update on me: this is disgusting, I was playing huntress against a rank 2, rank 8 and 2 rank 16s....... This is not right and I don't even have a sweaty huntress build just a common snipe build.

Yeah it's crazy tonight I guess!! I don't blame the ranks at all, they are there to help put people in the right matches to get better or stay in that area, but having a team of low ranks is tough and being a low rank killer and facing high ranks is painful at times! Hopefully it gets sorted out in the future-- I don't mind some flops, but this is pretty common.

mmr was turned off seeral months ago as it did not do what it was supposed to. now match making is back to what it was supposed to be and is plus or minus 6 ranks when you start searching (either side) now if you end up waiting a long time, that window is opened up and it IS possible with normal match making a rank 4 would be teamed with that 15-20 group. depeneds on how long they were waiting for a killer.

I'm pretty sure it will get fixed, hopefully soon, I'm not having a great time killing new players and I'm sure they aren't having fun as well.

Matchmaking does not use any form of MMR. They tried this briefly, but it made things way worse than normal.

Oh gosh, I guess I've just been getting weird teams and killer matches then. I'm just upset that at rank 15 killer I get a team of red ranks and sometimes as a red rank survivor get entire teams of rank 20s (Though rank does not always determine skill, there are some amazing low ranks out there!!) but I cannot believe I have depipped so much from being matched with really low ranks

It's generally been my experience that rank at least vaguely correlates with game skill. The kinds of matchups you're describing definitely happen way too often, though. Cross play was supposed to fix this, so I dunno how it is now seemingly at its all-time worst.

This sounds like normal late night matchmaking I get.
If I queue up as survivor after 11pm EST queue times become at least 5 minutes and I usually face green rank killers with yellow rank teammates as a red rank survivor.
