What is the one perk (survivor or killer) that you always run?

For example, on survivor I feel soooo naked without bond! It's my go-to on everyone. I Love the information I get from it. Also, be nice! Everyone has their own opinions :)

    Killer - BB&C.

Survivor - None. I've swapped all of them out at one point or another.

Bond and Borrowed Time. Essentials for me.

On killer it would be Corrupt since I main Mikey and need that early game to get to tier 2 fast.

WGLF and BBQ. Both are (clearly) run for the same reasons, but at the same time WGLF is my favourite anti-snowball perk and I would probably run is just as much even if it had no BP bonus.

    WGLF and Spine Chill

I'm not good at looping so for me it's D-Strike for survivor and for killer it changes a lot. I'd have to say Dying Light though. As soon as killers get it it goes on their build.

There isn't a single perk that I run constantly, but I always have Adrenaline or Surge if my survivor build has room or the killer in question doesn't down people with M2 often

Survivor - Kindred and or Spine Chill

Killer - Whispers (I'm still new and trying to get better at finding survivors and whatnot so it helps me a lot lol)

  • derppug
    derppug Member Posts: 239

I'm consistently rank 1 and I still use whispers in most games. It's super strong if you learn how to use it well and extremely good in the early game.

Oh yay. I kinda see it as killers version of spine chill which I know is used at all ranks on survivors xD

Killers: whispers or bbq but mostly whispers, I just can't take it off.

Survivor: gotta be bond or IW, I feel horrible when I don't use them.

Survivor: I will almost if not all the time run D-strike since its such an strong perk and it helps prevent me from getting tunneled hard.

Killer: I'll always try to run BBQ on most of my killers.

As a Killer, I always run Play With Your Food. As a Survivor I always run Calm Spirit.

I'm not sure I have one. Certain Killers rarely if ever enter the trial without certain perks, but I don't think I have one I run on *everybody*. Like, Legion usually is sporting Thana. Trapper and Demo never leave home without Corrupt. Pig is running M&A + Whispers every time. But... I don't think I have any perk that is a must grab every trial.

Killer thrilling tremors. Massively powerful way of spoting survivors and figuring out what locations are being pressured. In conjunction with pop it goes a long way.

Survivor is iron will injired sounds are an amazing tell for reading a survivors position. You can abandon a loop and slip past killer with some cheeky ingenuity.

Decisive strike. Idk but killers want me so badly & I usually get to use it about 7/10 games

Whispers. I think a version of whispers should be base kit, but it's not a fight I can be bothered with.

I'm in love with Desperate Measures right now.

I combine it with BT and SC, making it extremely good for saves and self healing when everyone is injured.

  • Hex_UrbanEvasion
    Hex_UrbanEvasion Member Posts: 200

That sweet, sweet Kindred. If it's missing from a character, I lose my mind. Also, and I may get hate for this, Urban Evasion. Like others do with Iron Will, I use this to escape. It's saved my ass a billion times by letting me circle obstacles and stay ahead of the killer's FOV.

I don't currently have a must-have killer perk, I mostly play just one killer. However, once I get BBQ teachable, it'll probably be that. I used to turn my nose up at it, until I actually looked at it and saw that it gives bonus BP.

    Spine chill and corrupt

Without spine chill I feel completely blind, especially when I'm against a stealth killer.

As for corrupt, I won't play a killer without it, except when I do meme builds. I don't enjoy losing 3 gens in my first chase :/

Survivor - Iron Will (so I don’t get found so easily when injured) and Spine Chill (great against all killer but especially stealth killers). I’m not a great looper so I feel like these stealth perks help me more than some of the other meta perks.

Killer - BBQ is the only one I always use on every killer (mostly for extra BP but the aura reading after hooks is nice too). For other three perks slots it’s totally dependent on which killer I play

Killer - BBQ (except on my main)

Survivor - Hate to admit it but it's probably Dead Hard. I just don't like any other exhaustion perk. Otherwise it's probably Iron Will. I only started running it within the last 2 months and don't ever want to take it off.

Killer: BBQ because 4 stacks equals fun for me. But because BBQ is obvious, discordance because gen rushers fresh off the hook gotta die.

    Loud survivors: iron will

    Quiet survivors: inner strength

Survivor: I just have to use we’re gonna live forever because of bloodpoints

Despite playing for as long as I have, I’m in love with Visionary and almost never take it off of my survivor build. I play solo, and although most maps have gens in obvious places, i’m always very glad to have Visionary equipped when loading into either The Game, Hawkins, Lery’s, or Midwich.

I just like not having to think or remember where gens are. Just focus on finding them, repairing them, and avoiding a 3 gen set up for the killer.

Killer is unplayable without BBQ and survivor is unplayable without Kindred. Always run these two perks. Even when I'm with friends I run kindred because contrary to popular belief, SWF groups aren't all seal team six constantly telling each other where the killer is and how many different kinds of bricks are on a wall and usually just talk about stuff unrelated to DbD and chill.

Bond is a must for me.

As for killer, I don't really have any must perk. Maybe bbq because I always want points, but that's it.

Y'all might hate me for this one, but Borrowed Time.

When there's a poor rank 20 meg being camped in the basement during the endgame collapse, there's only one way she's getting out of there and you better believe i'll stick to my Bill roots and die for the girl.

Killer=Whispers. I can't operate without it. Being able to know when an area is empty saves me a lot of time.

Survivor=BT. Anytime I take it off I end up in a scenario where I wish I brought it.

Spine chill fits a certain kind of playstyle.

BB&C is a must on all killers because it's so strong.

  • HR_Helios
    HR_Helios Member Posts: 189

That changes for certain killers. For instance PWYF is essential in any Mikey build I do. I always get value every game and I love it.

On huntress it's BBQ and Iron Maiden I have those in every build

Blood Pact! Not even a Cheryl bias here I just can't not use it I have it!

Idk why but it's just an amazing perk, it gives me so much info and that speed boost can be a lifesaver if you're teammates realise you share it!

    Bt and bbq

  • CampMeToDeath

    What most people been saying:

BBQ and Kindred - Both have great value and great info. Kindred will help the team if I'm on hook, if not then I can see who/where the killer is, know if I have to save or do gens. BBQ so I can know what I have to do next after a hook and for the BP.

PGTW - I switched it out with Ruin, cause a good SWF group will ignore it and gen rush. Even if it's not a SWF group, I get unlucky with the ruin spawn areas and honestly, it just stinks when it doesn't even last to mid or at least early game. Right off the bat and it's gone, is just annoying. (Undying never works for me, so I don't use it) But PGTW, it's just a nice pairing with BBQ cause you can see what gen you should stop from being done.

Iron Will - Saved my butt soooo many times, I can't live without it. Literally.

BT - Again, it's a life saver. I appreciate every survivor that takes BT over DS, cause in my experiences if people run DS they assume that I have it too, I don't, killers tunnel, I get hooked again or die. So.. It's just a nice feeling to have BT to have the killer either still go after the one that has been saved cause at least they can get to a better title or they'll come after me and the teamate can heal or do gens. Either way, I helped the teamate to the best that I can if the killer is camping or I have to save in front due to about to be in second phase or about to die.

Iron Will and Pop Goes The Weasel.

a close second would have been Kindred and Discordance, as i always feel like i am missing something when i dont run those, due to all the info i am missing out on.

As a killer, I play around using gen information perks to find survivors. I always try to run discordance or tinkerer, usually both. If not, thrilling tremors, surveillance or dragons grip works in a pinch
