How will the new keys work? Srsly...
I am asking because I played several (maybe 10-12) matches as a SOLO survivor (rank 7) with this loadout:
Items: Key with killer aura reveal + loss protection when opening the hatch (basically endless key supply)
Offering: Hatch spawn at killer shack.
Perks: Left behind,SC, Botany...
I was basically able to escape every single game, alone or with my teammembers that I informed in the chat before the game. Even when i didnt inform them about my plans they could simply walk out the exit gates. I took the hatch at the last gen most of the time, killer paniced and tried to close it while my mates simply opened the exit gates meanwhile and strolling out, without doing the last gen (because the EGC triggers no matter what, even if just 1 espacpes). Its a joke..
If they get the same treatment as Mori´s (making them useless), the hatch only spawns after the exit gates are open, no matter what, right?
If i can pull this off solo at this rank, I cant even imagine the power of SWF having this powerful tool at the moment.
Why dont you simply remove Moris and the entire Hatch mechanic at all. You basically removed Moris anyway by now. I play 75% survivor at the moment before you argue I am an entitled killer main. But this is just scamming killer players right now.

Keys should open hatch anyway, because we have difficult achievement to escape through the hatch with whole team.
Maybe keys should open hatch only when all gens done, or when egc is active.

I got a 20 escape streak just by bringing a key and shack hatch offering every game.
Might as well use them all before the nerf.

As to how, if I had to guess, probably something simple like making keys only work once all 5 gens are completed. Thus providing a strong alternate escape, instead of a game breaking early one that lets them skip their objective.
The current mori effect provides an alternative means of killing, instead of skipping their overall objective, so it would only be fair for the keys to be similar. Both would still be powerful in their own way; but not game breakingly so.
That's just my guess though. We don't know what they are doing yet, only that something is being done eventually.

However the new keys are going to work, people aren't going to like it and there will be tons of threads on here complaining about it. so I'm not too worried or concerned about it.

I just hope that the aura reading aspect of keys will remain untouched because I really like that about them ;-;
Maybe buff broken key's aura read duration a little so it's more usable. I'd especially like it if they gave broken key a unique model so killers could tell you're bringing a broken key and not dull/skeleton to go for hatch.
But yeah bottom line I just want keys to not be broken or make killers unhappy before the match even starts lol

They are. They said a while ago they will rework both moris and keys. They already reworked moris, now keys are next.

Ngl, I wish Hatch Offerings weren't in the game. I always thought the thing that made it balanced was the fact that it's location is basically randomized every game, and dedicating a perk to finding it is just one less meta perk on the load out. I kinda wish they would remove the offerings entirely. I personally never use them because I just don't think they're fair.

Yeah if you just want to hide in a locker all game waiting for everyone else to finish gens and/or die.
We can all get out of the game easily by playing like rat bastards but we don't because guess what it isn't fun.

I think they'll add a animation to open the hatch, and maybe tweak the add ons. Otzdarva also made a guess that keys can open chests faster, whilst you could just bring a perk it gives the key some more value if it can be used on more than the hatch(and to locate the Killer with addons)

We won't know for probably a year or something, I would be very surprised if they changed them any time soon.

I know they said they were changing keys, I just dont think we are going to actually see that change. If we do i dont think it will be anything substantial

I told a friend about this achievement, we agreed we'd try it, we finished all gens within 4minutes, found the hatch, informed the team are that was looping, opened it and all escaped trough it easily, 1st attempt like most survivor achievements, it's only hard if u don't have friends to play with. It's a team based achievement but it isn't hard it just requires a team

Keys for one shouldn't open the hatch on instant use. They should take a moment to unlock, before you can jump in. They even tried this in dbd prototype, dunno why they didn't stick with it.
Also, I like the idea of keys only letting 1 survivor escape. Should go with above, key opens the hatch then 1 survivor is allowed in before closed again.

Just like a working mmr? A working hit validation? a way to make solo closer to swf and then buff killers to keep up? All still on the list, as far as i know.

Honestly just make the hatch only spawn when there is only one survivor left or when all gens are done. Not a moment sooner. That would fix all annoyances surrounding keys.
And give the green key some of the addons effects by base.

You were lucky. It doesn't really make this achievement easier.
We got it as duo, and we got competent duo as teammates. It was actually sweaty, because I lost my key to franklins demise. But Quentin found it, saved me from hook and we escaped to hatch that he marked with map earlier.
Quentin is OP, he makes dbd broken as ######### and should be nerfed.
