Do gens to escape should be a pinned statement on forumns and game menu.
silly to have to have this but no one is even trying to do gens but instead all go for unhooks and likely all end up slugged at 5 gens... this seriously needs to be addressed, it’s bad enough a lot of red ranks don’t understand tiles or how to run them, little knowledge of perks and how they work (even ruin and tinker and no it’s not op) but have 3 rank 1-4 teammates and the only one to even do gens or a chase that isn’t hook trading is me.... like seriously it’s embarrassing and just unfun to know every game is a flop unless you hard carry, it’s near impossible to enjoy these match’s and they’re about 95percent of my games (no I don’t want to do swf constantly)

I just cannot believe “high rank” players still don’t do the only objective and are rewarded for it

You have to consider two things:
First of all, Ranking is way too easy in this game. On both sides there are players which clearly dont belong in Red Ranks. You see Killers who just hold w while chasing, having big problems on easy tiles (even unsafe Tiles, you saw that during the Bloodlust-experiment). You also see Survivors who are camping Pallets, go to the Corner of the Map to get healed (where NOTHING is in case the Killer comes around), are unproductive (just yesterday I saw a David walking around while I was hooked. He was not on a Gen, he was not running to find a Gen or to the Unhook, he was just walking... And he did not have Sprint Burst, just taking a stroll).
Second, ranking up is too easy, but the Rank Reset is also basically non-existent. If someone was at Rank 4, they get reset back to Rank 5, which is not even a Reset. So they are back in Red Ranks pretty soon. Of course Ranks show that someone is playing a lot more than anything, but before, you could see how fast people were Ranking up. If you got a Killer who went from Rank 11 (or whatever it was when you were Rank 1 before) to Red Ranks at the first day of Rank Reset, you knew that this guy was good. Same with Survivors.
And if you had people who reached Red Ranks barely at the End of the "Season", you knew that those either dont play much OR that they have trouble ranking up, often switching between Rank 4 and Rank 5.
But now, since everyone and their mother basically starts at Rank 5 after Rank Reset, it is easier to get into Red Ranks. So you will have even more people who dont know that they have to do, in this example: Repair some Gens to escape. You get Survivors who want to get healed against Sloppy Butcher with 1 Gen to go instead of doing that one Gen to trigger their Adrenaline...

i'll add that you can get boost on the discord server, and if that don't work there is a whole discord that has been created to promote boosting/reverse boosting.

should be a flashing alert scrolling across the top of the screen during every match
they could also add,
”...especially you Solo queue!”
