Just realized why The Blight has a perk called Dragons grip
There's a phrase that I heard recently, "chasing the dragon". Basically meaning that you're trying to attain a bigger and better high than before no matter the tolerance you've built up to the drug.
In 'Doors Unknown' the entity takes the form of a massive dragon and kills The Blight multiple times.
So basically, Blight is stuck in an infinite cycle of Blight fluid high induced by the entity. So literally, and metaphorically, Blight is stuck in the dragons grip.
Seems obvious in hindsight, but pretty good writing on the devs part.

They did really good with his lore.
I hope that when Vigo is brought into the picture again that they put this much effort into them.

“Chasing the dragon" is a slang phrase of Cantonese origin from Hong Kong referring to inhaling the vapor from a heated solution of morphine, heroin, oxycodone, opium, or ya ba.
I always heard it just for heroine or opium.

Big writing difference in things now compared to like....OG killers backstories that is for sure.

I feel like they could brush up on the backstories in the original bios. Most of what the original 4 survivors come down to is " they walked into a forest, never to be seen again. "

While I like the simplicity of old lore, having read the newer lore over the past 2 years, they really could go back and reimagine some of the earlier/original character’s stories. Some seem a bit too basic to be easily acceptable, nowadays.

I figured it was a reference to that whole Opium subplot in his bio. You know, the "grip of the oriental dragon" being a metaphor for Opium addiction with that whole Opium den. Thought it was pretty clever.

The dragon is also a very important part of alchemy, he's an alchemist so it makes sense there is a dragon, the ouroboros is a dragon most times in alchemy (which represents an unending cycle) I feel it's a reference to more than to just drug addiction, there's also a term they used called felix culpa meaning illness and cure, and the blight serum is his, it all fits with his alchemy background, plus his survivor is named Felix and I think that's a fun reference, but it's possible it has a double meaning, maybe it's ment to be his addictions and his obsession with alchemy combine to be his dragon and then the entity uses that to torment him in that backstory
