Can we get first person view eventually ?
Now that the devs have started cleaning up animations, it would be nice if we could get this as an option at least. I know there are plenty of survivors that would refuse to keep playing were it mandatory, but anyone else want to take survivor play to the next level? I feel like this would be a perfect nudge to instill that horror vibe of paranoia.

There's an issue with first person and it's that 4 years of balance have been based around the 3rd person camera. Changing, or adding the option to change, to a 1st person view as survivor would both require more new animations and an entire re-think of the system, with having to commit to one camera angle or another in terms of figuring out loops and powers etc.
It's incredibly unlikely.

As an option? Hell yeah. Mandatory? No

Would be fun, but completely unbalanced. The Killer would 4k every time most likely.

It’s hard to imagine 1st person becoming a in-game feature, let alone one that can be switched on and off as easily as crossplay.
Aside from everything else on the technical side of things,
all the money survivors spend on cosmetics that they won’t even be able to see themselves wear in game would be a turn off to many players
...not to mention the devs, who would possibly experience a decrease in cosmetic sales.
I don’t expect anyone to see 1st person happening in DBD any time soon.
1st person survivor DBD without the accompaniment of VR wouldn’t really be adding much to the game anyway, imo

Thing is, it would not really be worth to invest any time to make it an option. Maybe right now some people are saying they would play it, but they probably get bored after a few games or see that it is not really a good feature for DBD.
And until then, BHVR would need to make animations for every Survivor and every Outfit (because you would see the hands while working on a Gen, vaulting, etc.) for a feature probably only a few people would use.

Honestly it would be a waste of the devs time. You really want this instead of bug fixes or new chapters?

In a future game, I think this would be an awesome OPTION and/or game type but for the current game I don't think it's doable. It wouldn't surprise me though if BHVR had an internal build of the game with some clunky but playable first-person camera option on Survivors. Seems like the sort of thing they would have built a barebones test environment for to see if were worth pursuing.
