Am I the only one who actually likes the new HUD?

It seems like everybody dislikes the new UI but i'm actually a fan of it. It's simple, clean, and gives you much more useful information while being small. It gives sections dedicated to each part, (survivor icons, perks, and power) so it's not so cluttered!

I like it too. People are just used to the old version. It'll take time to get used to the new one.

I prefer it organized on bottom where it isn't blocking anything rather than scattered around the screen where it can create blind spots in FOV. Also concerned about it triggering FPS drops on consoles/low end pc. I do like that it will give more information.

It's just more common for people to post when they don't like something so it create some bias. I like the new HUD too.

I really like the new Hud, and I think what people are forgetting is that you can scale it, so it doesn't take up as much room.

No, I think most dislike it (myself included) whether they don't like change or just think it looks bad, but there's definitely a decent amount who do

I won't mind the new HUD, but i do prefer the current one.

Only reason for that is that the new HUD will place every separate thing in a separate corner or on a separate side of the screen.

Unlike you, i think it's quite the clutter, and i prefer the more compact look of the current one.

I do like the Survivors' actual faces being there & the Hook stages, but i'm 100% sure those could be implemented into the old HUD.

oh my god i love it.

but honestly, the only way i could imagine how we can keep the old HUD would be by the devs adding an option that allows us to switch between HUDs ingame.

as much as i dislike it, the new HUD has already been developed, so they put a lot of time, effort and money into it already, which means they are extremely unlikely to ditch it again.

its a lot like the Trappers "new" trap set animation. that too made it through even though a vast majority of people preferred the old one.

    This really.

There is absolutely no reason to scatter HUD elements all around the screen. It doesn't matter if you can scale it or not. This just clutters the view. We are not Cyberpunk Cyborgs who have HUDs on our face in every direction. That kind of design went defunct back with System Shock 1 in the 90's.

Less HUD is better, keep it in one part of the screen, put all relevant info there, and it stays as unobtrusive as possible to the player.

Have you played Cyberpunk 2077? That game's interface is information overload like no other because of all the overlays over your vision, and it looks terrible. Really poor game design. Having so many elements on screen does exactly this, and that's exactly what the new HUD is.

I get that they're thinking, "Oh if you want to see survivor data you look upper left. If you want to see gen count look up. Etc. Nice idea but in practice one small HUD element with all that information at a glance is better than needing to look at multiple parts of the screen to get all the data.

there is a new HUD ingame right now ?

I thought it was getting changed to the one in the Developper Update but only in Mid-Chapter Oo

No it's not about that. I don't mind change at all but the new HUD is terrible. I've seen the mockups made by the DbD community and they look ten times better than what BHVR came up with.

I hate the new HUD. It looks like someone who has no clue about UI/HUD design made it for a cheap mobile game.

I hope they will allow you to customize location of HUD elements soon.

I love it, maybe a few things can be moved closer but otherwise I find it very clean and think it'll make the game feel a bit fresher.

The thing is, I don't think the HUD is 'clean' or 'simple' at all. Having one thing in each corner around the screen is...really messy from a gameplay point of view. Looking at every point of the screen for different pieces of information is almost the exact opposite of what you want a HUD to do in a PvP game. It should be focused and all the info shown to you at a single glance. Having to look at the top of the screen to see gen progress, then the top left to see the state of survivors, then maybe the bottom left to check, say, how many hatchets you have left, then the bottom right in case you have any perks...I can't explain it well but that's gonna get really annoying to constantly look around the screen to see different pieces of info, and also keep track of scratchmarks, blood, chasing survivors etc. Especially if you're on a big monitor or TV, good luck to those people.

I got mixed feelings about it. I like the new design, but I hate that it's all over the screen now. Instead of leaving all the information grouped together you now have to look all over the screen for just one thing.

All information about gens, power, item and survivor states were together in the bottom left corner. Perks bottom right

Now it looks more like a mobile phone game. Stuff bottom right, bottom left, middle left, upper left corner, Top middle

    It's #########

Now everything is aaaaalll over the place, by the old hud I have everything in ONE PLACE and the new one

Somethings bottom left than the other one top left and in the middle UP THERE

This is so stupid why not everything in ONE PLACE
