So is getting to rank one going to be easier now?
Now that ranks will no longer play a part in matchmaking, but instead be used to reflect how often you play and how many bonus blood points you get, is getting to rank one going to be more attainable, or is it still going to be nigh near impossible if you're just a casual player?

It will take longer since you are reset to 20 and since you will ideally be playing against people of equal skill to your own.

See that's what I want to know. Getting to rank 1 from rank 20 takes easily over a hundred pips. Since pipping doesn't correlate to matchmaking or skill anymore, will it be removed for say, an experience system?

It's nice that we'll get BP for ending a rank reset in R1 but it's not really much. You will get 250k in like 3 matches if you bring BBQ and some BPS. Like someone mentioned, it will take you longer to get to R1 because you'll be starting from the bottom.

In this update? No.
BHVR has not commented to my knowledge on the future of an experience system.

Yeah I didn't see anything mentioned either. But knowing that matchmaking will be based around a completely hidden skill system, makes me ponder if the experience system will be changed as well. If not, then that's an awful lot of grinding to have be done every single month.

I realize that the same amount of blood points can be obtained through a handful of killer matches, but the amount of grinding that would have to be done every month just to get to rank one with the current pipping system would be ridiculously high. That's why it would be nice if it were replaced with an experience system. I'd like to think that playing a few matches a night over the course of a month would be more than enough to get you to rank one.

I'm going to get it again regardless of how hard or easy it is, w/o SWF, without DS and UB, etc. Solo 100%. See y'all in-game.

That or give us auric cells...........Yeah right lol

Answer: No.
The devs aren't going to care since ranks effect nothing anymore once mmr is active.

Most likely you're right. Knowing that matchmaking is being changed for the better, I'd like to think that so too would the ranking system, but most likely it won't.

Rank 1 takes 85 pips to obtain, from rank 20, if you look at the Steam achievement progress. I assume this change is meant to reward people who play the game a LOT, which is strange considering that you need to put in a lot of effort for such a miniscule amount of bloodpoints that can be obtained in a few killer games with offerings and BBQ. They might make it require less pips to get to rank 1 with this change, but I doubt they will since you would have to change the achievements as well, I would assume.

I think it's more than that, but if not then regardless that's still a lot!
Yeah the amount of grinding players would have to do every month just get back to rank one is kind of nuts. It's easily obtainable if you're a streamer, but good luck if you got a life outside of DBD.

I agree. It took me 3 months before I got to Rank 1 the first time and even though we're in quarantine I don't think that's really going to change.

So do you all think mmr is actually going to work this time?

It takes 85 pips to get from rank 20 to rank 1.

The first few days of every reset is going to be complete chaos haha
