Alright. First killer game in a while let's go! Oops, better turn off cross play. I dont want to face computer survs as a consol killer.

5minutes after search. (Yep. Any time now. Gonna get a good game)

10minutes after search. (Am... am I searching?)

15minutes after search. (Uhhhhhhh)

20minutes. (Cough*)

25minutes after search. (Alright, I got a game. Oh but theres only three people. No prob, shouldnt take too long)

30minutes after search. (Yep... gonna get that 1 survivor. Thousands playing this game. Gotta get one)

35minutes after search. (...You serious?)

40minutes after search. (Finally a match. I'll play this one but I think I'm done for today. Perhaps forever.

After match. Oh I'm a 20 facing reds... guess that makes sense.

the majority of console players have it on wich is why you dont find anyone, as Tsulan said.. you will only find people that also have it off

Yeah....I know. What I ask is why the long que time. And, just because console players turn cross play on. Shouldnt mean they only get paired with others that have the same. It should be a chance to be paired. They're still on console, should still get paired with others on the same platform regardless on if they have cross play on or not.

In theory, you can still have 4 console survs with crossplay turned on, against a console killer with it off. The devs lack of foresight in this is laughable. By their own hand, they have extended que times. All in an effort to promote cross play. It's a force feed. Play same platform, wait a long time. Cross play, wait a shorter time but because computer to console has not been fixed to this game yet. It's a horrible time

I still don't understand why people turn crossplay off. Its not like the skill level between platforms is that drastic. We just have it ingrained in our minds that pc players are better then console when in reality there are plenty of potatoes/gods on any platform.

    Me with crossplay on:

Killer match let's go! I'll just ready up and go get something to eat..... Oh #########, 5 second wait time! Oh.... Pc survivors..... Hmmm.... Oh let's just go, F it.

20 minutes later: well that wasn't that bad....

That's not what bothers me. What bothers me is the difference of how the game plays on both. For example, a computer Oni and Nurse would shred compared to console versions.

Not to mention how with crossplay on you can go against hackers.

After encountering a couple I permanently disabled crossplay. Not dealing with that crap, and it baffles me how the devs are seemingly unable to detect cheats.

Apparently there are hacks to avoid the anti cheat system. I came across several hackers watching my bro where he can make killers have survivor perks, survs have killer perks and give themself the ability to teleport, go through walls. Through pallets, windows. So yeah. The devs lack of foresight is just laughable.

To think you probably could have had 3 matches against "computer survivors" in that time.

    They really aren't that scary.

I had one last night as killer. I started chasing a Meg and she Sprint Bursts away, because, of course: Meg. So I proceed to follow but notice she isn't slowing down. She seems to be going faster than me, the killer who's SUPPOSED to slowly catch up. I just think maybe I'm imagining it and go find someone else. I find a Kate and start a chase, when Meghead appears once again. Now, I'm no genius on the workings of time but... T3 Sprint Burst = 40 seconds minimum waiting time to use again, unless you decided to continue running everywhere while Exhausted then you're waiting far longer. It has been about 10 seconds since I left the Meg, so there was no way in hell she could Sprint Burst me again, so I thought, yep, easy hit for the cocky Meg. I go to swing, and zoom. Sprint Burst, but I swear it was double the speed of a Sprint Burst. Even the Kate stopped right beside me to watch so it. But, there is a good side to this story funnily enough. It seemed the Meg was a solo player, and the other 3 somehow formed a peace treaty with me. For a couple of minutes I couldn't find anyone. No gens were being done, no AFK crows. Then I hear explosion spam at the basement. I'm thinking, great, Meg again. Well, turns out the Survivors had turned against the hacking Meg and trapped her in the basement for me to kill. Seems they didn't approve of the hacker. I did record the gameplay but since I'm on PS4, I can't transfer it to a report yet, but it is good that there are survivors who will work against hackers like that. We don't need them ruining the game for us when some of us legit just want to have some fun.

It was indeed. Honestly, one of the best moments in my DbD career to see someone get same treatment they try dish out 😁

    Honestly,hackers are extremely rare.

I've seen maybe like 2 or 3 hackers since crossplay even though i'm playing quite a lot.

And even if i see a hacker it's pretty funny and stupid things like this.So i don't really mind.

I will agree there is probably a (marginally) higher skill cap on some killers on PC. But the issue of your post is that you are playing killer and having to deal with a frustrating que time. I could be wrong but the only major difference between console and pc survivors is the number of key binds where controllers are more limited. With crossplay on, your killer que should be almost instant. Yeah matchmaking would still be pretty similar (if not better) but hey atleast you didn't have to wait 40 mins for the match.

And on the issue of hackers you mentioned, they seem to be very rare. I haven't seen/noticed any in the several hundred hours I've played as killer. To be fair though as a rank 1, I am usually matched with mostly red ranks and not many under that. Hackers might be more prevalent at the lower ranks.

Pc survivors are not better than console survivors, thats a myth. Pc killers aren't any better than console killers either, they just have much more precise controls making killers like nurse, deathslinger, huntress, blight, and to an extent oni much more deadly with a pc killer. Cross play off extends your wait time, the longer your wait time the further matchmaking throws a net for other players, making matches worse.

This was my day on the 13th january 2021, rank reset day:

    • Camp Freddy
    • Tunnel and camp Huntress
    • Tunnel, camp and slug nurse

All my games were tunnel and camp killers. And ALL of them running Thana. Very weird I only got killers using Thana, week before I didn't see it that often.
