PS4 - Number of players dropped (observation)
I'm noticed a huge drop on number of players on PS4.
I know lot of people are playing killer, but everytime i get into killer, i find almost the same survivors again and again.
Also, on my friends list, there are a lot of guys who don't play anymore or playing very rarely (even the hardcore ones).
We always know BHVR don't care about console, so maybe this is deserved.
Reasons players get away:
- Pallet nerf
- Healing nerf
- Vault nerf
- Event patch made FPS worse for Killers (playing with skins is like restarting the game every 5 matches)
Ps.: I am a Killer main, before someone say "You are crying."

I feel very sad when i realize the game will be dead someday, because it runs so poor.
Things like i pointed make new players never look back to the game. If i were new getting PS+ i would do for sure, cuz the experience is not that good since 2.0.0 -

Coming from a fellow PS4 player, I can say that the pallette changes combined with the FPS issues are not fun to take part in. The game is just dying period. I know the feeling but what's worse is the event seems to have brought out all the players that tunnel I mean if all 5 pull out petals the least the killer could do is leave people be on a plant unless there being dicks2

The game is on sale currently.
THe game was free for 30 days to any legitimate gamer that pays for PS+
The game is good and very very close to being balanced.
If people are leaving over the observations you listed... good.
This isn't called "Survive by Daylight".

Many factors not just nerfs and buffs. It is a terrible grind and requires a large commitment.

I can see that I guess. They've fixed a lot of problems and while SWF is strong, if a killer comes across a pair (2 swf) and 2 solos... or 4 solos, the game is balanced.
It's still really hard against 3 and 4 swf tryhards. The grind is fun and cool I think, but the rewards aren't that good. That is my current issue.

I play on ps4 too and I have been noticing a decline in players. I love the game but que times are WAY too long now for killer. It takes almost 10 minutes just to find a match. Worst part is I'm at rank 4 right now and normally I'm at rank 1, but at those ranks its nothing but long que times. I might end up moving to PC. Theres a larger player base there and the fps isnt messed up. I just need a good gaming computer

He's said in the past that he plays console. Also, I don't know if he is a killer main, but I dont experience much fps issues as killer. Maybe some weird lag spikes when I get right next to a player. However, I notice that I experience a ton of fps issues when I play late at night as a survivor; i always think the killer (host) is overseas or something.
What sucks about the P2P model is that not a lot of people have their routers optimized for these kinds of interactions. It doesn't help that ISPs often like to throttle P2P traffic.
As a side note, a lot of players might be taking a break after grinding out the costumes. I know that I've been burning out a bit trying to get all of my vials.

Its even worse now with the event since it requires you to play both roles for vials, its speculated that there are more people playing killer because of this.

I know I'm gonna be playing the hell out of RDR 2. I preordered the Ultimate Edition on disc and am patiently waiting for it. Those nerfs were ABSOLUTELY needed for the health of the game and it STILL needs quite a bit more.

I'm actually a console player. And I get some irritating frame issues at times... but hey life goes on.
I can't stand the PC elitism that goes on sometimes. So you're very wrong.
Survivor FPS is fine. It's probably around 25-30 or so mostly.
Killer FPS at times can get to the 15 range. Or with Doctor its like 20.
THis game should run at 30 FPS at least. I'm not even asking for soemthing crazy, but 30 fps should be a given in today's world.
THe PS4 isn't a computer, I get that, but its not a weak machine either.

BHVR has demonstrated that they have the critical thinking skills of a canary when it comes to balancing as they take into consideration the opinions of people that know nothing of the game and do not care to improve themselves and instead demand an easier experience at the expense of good players that have played the game for a long time, have put in the most money into this game, and deal with the BS balancing decisions that come out.
If BHVR balanced the game based off of the rank 15 console players every killer would be at freddy-tier. So yes, you console players should not be permitted to post on the forums as you lack the experience and game knowledge to make game balance demands. Everything dumb I have read over the course of this event has come from console players.

Honestly I'm still playing even with all of the nerfs added. I'm a survivor main who occasionally plays killer but I still have a lot of fun (most of the time) playing this game.
Still really love this game still after 4 months of getting it! Trying to learn how to use dead hard properly.

@Dwight_Confusion You're right, its not a computer, buts it also not a rock. FPS isn't something you can just deal with when playing, especially in first person. FFS.... the playerbase isnt dropping... you're at rank 4 if ya haven't noticed hardly any survivors are pipping because of the event they only care about the nectar and bp that comes with it..... the playerbase is growing.....even on steam 🙄0 -

Game may be free, but ps+ is not, so that "free game" is sonys awkward way of saying thanks for the subs.
Its hard to get invested in a game if you have to deal with toxic culture and fps hits that make you miss obvious hits.
Plus console players differ from pc players, in that its fun right then on our couches, dont really have 20 minutes to wait for one game.
I personally love dbd, but with the event issues im playing mtga atm. Get burned out on survivor games, and the few times i waited out the 20 minutes, the games werent worth the queues, that can be said about dbd in general right now on all platforms.

I don't think you can really make any judgement about the playerbase during an event like this. There are too many variables in effect.

People are just not playing that much because new games are coming out. Cod, assassins creed, Rdr 2, soon Battlefield V. Once new chapter comes out they'll be back.
