Should Surge loose the basic attack requirement?

Most people say it should include M2s but I've heard some say that it'd be too complicated too work around. So what do you think should Surge loose the basic attack requirement and explain your reason. Personally I think it should be removed it limits the perk so much by only allowing M1s to use it efficiently some perks should be for M1s like STBFl but Surge shouldn't be one of those.

    Unlike with injuries, a down is easy to quantify. So Surge can absolutely use M2's without issue.

    I think it would be better if it would activate 32 meters from the survivor being downed in any way, so a huntress hatchet would trigger it around where the survivor is. Maybe reduce the cooldown a bit as well.

    It should work from either M1 but no cooldown, or any attack with a cooldown
