Hallowed Blight is about to make me quit DBD
This is not a hate message to developers or anything of the sort, I would just like to point out some glaring issues I've seen with this recent event update.
I just Alt-F4'd out of a game with three boosting survivors and a boosting killer. This was my fifth game in a row with a boosting killer/survivors, and to be completely honest I'm sick of it. I've reported countless killers and survivors for doing these exact things, and yet over time, it seems that nothing gets done. How did the devs not realize that this entire event would only encourage boosting and poor sportsmanship? I understand the intentions and I respect what they're trying to do with fun, engaging seasonal events, but this was not the way to go about it in my opinion.
These past five games have obviously tilted me and made me extremely angry, seeing as though it has basically made the game unplayable for me. I'm not sure what anybody else has experienced with this update but from what I've seen throughout Discord and these forums it seems like a common issue.
I can confidently say that as a legacy survivor and beta player who has been playing this game for two years now, this is by far the worst event in this game's history, mechanics wise. I appreciate the cosmetics, the theme, and everything surrounding it, but adding the vials has just turned the game into an extremely toxic environment. At the very least, about 50% of my games since the event started have been with boosting killers and survivors.
This makes me question whether the devs think past their concepts, and frankly it has made me lose a lot of respect for this game.
Rant over, thanks.

Ohh, it's just a rant.
It's over early November, you can hold out. Or just play something else in the meantime.
Mathieu recommends Civ V.9 -

Mathieu recommends Civ V.I didn't care much for his recommendation. So, instead, I pre-ordered Hide or Die this afternoon before the window closed. We'll see how its Beta goes starting on the 31st.

I never tried that game. And I have no idea if Hide or Die will be good or not. Hell, it might be fantastic, and I just not like it. But I figure: what the hell? I could risk $30 and try that game, or give BHVR $30 for skins.
At this stage, I felt better about taking the risk than rewarding BHVR.

What? Hide or Die? If you mean that one, you're probably right. I've been on the fence about that game for months now, but figured a quick Beta would give me a feel for the mechanics and whether or not I'd like it over all.
In all honesty, if I like it, I will be shocked. It's more than a little Battle Royal in design, and I typically don't care much for BR games.

Sorry, meant DeadGarden.
Hide or Die looks interesting to me, but so do at least 10% of all games for me.0 -

I mean, if I want to run around at high speed, double-jump, and wall-climb while being shot at, I can just play Genji in Overwatch. I don't need a whole new game for that.

Huh, i play neither so that's a new way of thinking for me.
Who knows, those that play Overwatch, which is free, probably didn't want to pay for a version of that game in which the variety is a few guns and skills.0 -

They run a 50% sale usually once a season (summer, fall, winter, spring), and they did toss it into the October Humble Bundle $12 subscription recently, but the game has an MSRP and always has.
Paladins, the other hero-shooter, is free. So is TF2.

....so after two years, killers and survivors farming to ensure they get the cosmetics before it ends makes you want to leave after two years?0

All good, brother.
But speaking of Deathgarden, did you see this video the Lead Dev made? Just came out yesterday, I think.

I love the event the only thing I would say is the petals need to be a bit more common in the blood webs but apart from that I have no issues with the event. I wish they could make the harvesting a bit faster for survivors but other than them tiny things I love the event.0

I have 51 Petals on Quentin Smith. They are not uncommon.douggie123 said:I love the event the only thing I would say is the petals need to be a bit more common in the blood webs but apart from that I have no issues with the event.
