Why don't some want to see Pennywise in Dead by Daylight?

Well, perhaps the answer is quite obvious that it is an entity much superior to Freddy and similar to the Entity. But I have seen many comments about why they do not want him, that he is very powerful and blah blah blah, But even though he is an entity and not a serial killer like Freddy, Jason and Michael, he is a being that feeds on the fear of children, something similar to the Entity, but think about it, the developers have already confirmed that Pennywise and Jason Voorhees have a "PERMANENT INVITATION", so it is likely that we will have them in the future, their arguments are not worth much for what they can do the same in the Lore as with Freddy, upon entering the kingdom of the Entity, his powers will be diminished and he would be forced to kill and feed the Entity, he thinks that his power would be unique, also the Entity can be much more powerful than Pennywise and it would be good to have him since this clown in his 1990 film traumatized me since I was 6 years old. What do you think?

we don't want him to get ruined by teabagging survivors and now Pennywise is scared of flashlights and pallets

If he gets added it would mean the entity is stronger and IT fans don't like that.

Terrible fear of clowns! Pennywise started this and I don't know how I'd do with him in the game! I struggle enough with our only clown kenneth!

Can't even see Mr.x from resident evil in it cause of this reason.

I would much rather see Art the Clown from All Hallows Eve/Terrifier than Pennywise if they add another clown. His power could be stealth and his bag of 'toys'.

    Probably because of the Lore.

It would be very likely that IT would enlsave The Entity then the way around. IT is a god in the macroverse where our universe got vomited by a gigantic turtle.

On top of that, i dont see any way on how Pennywise would work. It is not killing people with physical weapons like any other Killer in DbD. I am simply afraid they will try out something crazy which would change the core gameplay to much.

In fact he can use his claws as a weapon, his power would have to do with the balloons or I know, I just know that people do not want him for fear of his power, perks and even to add a killer much more broken than what it's Freddy. All of that depends on the developers if they want to bring it or not.

Sure, he could use claws, his teeth or smash survivors with a bunch of balloons. The problem is, this would not be true to his character. He is simply not a slasher killer.

It would be like bringing Dr Manhatten into the game and he is using a hammer to down survivors. I hope you get the point what i mean there.

Yes, that is also a problem. It is not a slasher as such, it is simply a Being from a novel, it is an Entity and not a Killer. Although I do not expect him or see him as a DBD Killer, it is enough to know the reasons why half the community does not want to see him, but you already gave me an official answer.

But how are they not sticking true to the character, There taking the adaptation of him from the movie's and making it into a playable mechanic.

Pennywise trapped himself, if you remember he also has to obey the rules of that corporial form. The Entity can take anyone from in place in time ,which is why we have Pyramid Head instead of Missionary because The Entity isn't twisted as one might think, but I digress. Pennywise isn't in his strongest form when he is the clown, but he's perfect for aspect of chasing survivor's and it will be really damn cool.

  • Pennywise is basically what the entitiy is. A dark god that feeds on others fear and suffering.

I don't think the entity would be more powerful, nor do I feel that it would ever serve the entity in dbd.

For me I just think there's better licenses to get first. Resident Evil being the rumoured next chapter actually is really good I think.

They’d find a way to fit Pennywise in

Pinhead makes more sense in DBD tho, imo

I’m sad for Clown if people main Pennywise over him... that’s the only reason I don’t mind him missing the roster.

On the flip side, if we get Harley Quinn, Joker and some Killer Clowns From Outer Space thrown in with Pennywise, we could really enhance the Circusy vibes🥳

Don't get me wrong I love Pennywise as a villain but I feel lore wise Dead by Daylight would never be able to do an iconic character like Pennywise justice.

I don't like Pennywise. I don't find it particularly scary or intimidating, a fact that will only be worsened by it now having its arms and legs metaphorically tied behind its back.

For anyone saying lore wise it wouldn’t fit and in the books he is too powerful: they could just use the movie version, that one already exists and is clearly a different version than the original one from the book(s)

I wouldn't want it because he won't truly be powerful.

The same, but I also feel for a part that would not fit well for not being a mythical killer, but an entity, although we only have as Option killers that would fit well as Chucky, Pinhead, Jason, Pumpkinhead, Alien and Candyman. The slasher movie list would be complete.

Yeah pretty much - And yeah I agree with your list admittedly I don't see Chucky working for a lot of reasons but not exactly opposed to it just don't see it working out.

I'd add The Terminator (T-800) to that list personally. He's not exactly a slasher but then again neither is the Xenomorph from Alien. He just falls into that category.

But then survivors could just teabag in front of him and he would wither.

I personally dont want him in because hes more complex than "he feeds on the fear of children". That's such a simplification of what he is. He's basically the main enemy of the universe as a whole. Ignoring lore and power. I believe the devs can do great things, but making pennywise into a not op killer without making him underpowered is gonna be difficult as hell.

Maybe a human will load it and we will have the same as Billy and Leatherface or just make it taller than Victor, but the developers are the experts at that. On the other hand, the Terminator thing would not be such a bad idea, although I have never seen much of his movies.

And then there's the chance Pennywise and the entity are the same being...

That is your opinion, one that I heavily disagree with.

  • Personality I would love it if they added Pennywise

"So it is likely that we will have them in the future."

Probably not. IIRC Pennywise's "Invitation" has been declined multiple times and Stephen King has mentioned that he isn't a big fan of videogames.

It's not that I don't want to see him, It just seems unlikely given the circumstances. (Same with Jason, who has been in legal hell for the past couple of years.)

Lore wise It would be weird as #########..But,not unthinkable sense we are not sure of the entity reach..He did pull from Silent Hills lore and old PH was like "K,this works" and Freddy..But,this is remake Freddy so I am sure he is ok with being controlled by a giant monster thing as long as he gets a power fanasty on defensless people.

Pennywise seems like he would atleast Attempt to escape the Entities graspe mainly cause he does not seem like he likes being on the reverse end of fear..and the entity. punishes failure.

Number 2 would be more a power question, which has to do more with the limitation of game design then anything.

And 3....Which Pennywise? Cause both of them are scary in different ways..And both maybe the same monster but have a different..Attuide about them If that makes sense. Which inorder to make a Pennywise and keep everyone happy he might need one to be his main suit and the other one to be a Custome that comes with him "LIke Ghostface and the sliver outfit" or something unlockable thou a event for him. (Like Og Herc outfit in smite)

Honestly, I would not whine If I saw him..Would confuse me a bit..I mean there are better and worst choices..But,ironically this aint smash bros where half the killers are anime swordfighters.
