I understand the frustration behind what happened. You have the right to feel frustrated and be upset, but I want to make it very clear that what was said is not indicative of the views of the team. The team cares about the players and those who would love those features so the game becomes more accessible to them. A statement has been made about it on two occasions, you can check them out here: https://twitter.com/DeadByBHVR/status/1352323137678045185 and https://twitter.com/DeadByBHVR/status/1352376019077001219 In previous streams they've previously mentioned working on a mode. That was a while ago though.
Many times it seems like something is easily developed and can be put out quickly, but the colorblind mode was not developed just on the day before BHVR has decided to show work in progress screenshots. They've been working on it for a while and the announcement was supposed to be next month, but the decision was made to show it earlier. The Dead by Daylight Team wants to make sure that it's working and helps those who it is for. The UI is also being revisited in regards of the colorblind issues hopefully in time for the mid-chapter release.
They've also said in the Stream on Thursday they are not forgetting other accessibility features. The team is passionate about making the game as accessible as possible, to everyone, but their goal is to get those things right, so the people who have been waiting for it can enjoy it from the moment it is available.
For the colorblind feature: They are planning to release it with the next big chapter update, but it is not possible to commit to a date yet, but please be assured they are working on it. We've members on the moderation team that are colorblind themselves and possibly require other kind of accessibility features and the developer team is passionate about those. It might not seem like much, but several things were changed to help people with different kind of issues that made it hard for them to play the game: The flashlight blinds were changed, the red flashing pallet stun was not implemented, etc. It may seem little at first, but for many people with migraines and sensory/visual issues, including me, this has helped. My migraines have sent me to the hospital previously, that's how bad they can get. This is not meant to undermine those other issues that are just as important, but to showcase they've already taken steps towards making the game better in experience for people who were suffering from specific features.
What was said does not reflect the views of the team that has been working hard on making this happening. They're working hard on making it possible, for everyone.
