My BT rework idea
Yeah here's my idea
BT will activate if the killer is within 24 meters of the hook for 6 seconds and the timer will remain the same. The problem with it being based off the terror radius is a killer who is genuinely not camping or tunneling can have their pressure ruined by a hook rush. Also can be completely neglected by stealth campers like the world famous Insidious Bubba. This change will mean that a survivor can't rush the hook. But won't make it weak to camper killers with stealth or a low terror radius. Here's my idea post your concerns below.

Bt isnt really a problem. The only time I have trouble with it is if their hooked right next to an open exit gate. It's not hard to just wait out the timer tho

I would leave everything as-is except change from being in TR to being in some distance of the killer. It would be far more predictable. One needs to think through all the consequences, like it also means BT now works with Freddy when the survivor is in dream world. I am a killer main and don't have a problem with hook diving. BT encourages risky survivor behavior and often I can parlay it into downing the unhooker. Burn a hook state and get another PGTW? Yes please

I said it should be within so and so meters instead of the terror radius

Yeah I'm agreeing with that idea but not necessarily the stuff about killer being within that range of the hook for 6 seconds.

How does this prevent them from rushing the hook?

BT doesn’t need a rework.

Sometimes a rush is needed. If the survivor has like 5 seconds left, then the team has to make a choice: rush or bail. Giving BT a six-second activation time isn't a great idea, especially with ranged killers existing.

BT is fine as it is and easily countered unless they are next to an open gate. Either go for the unhooker, wait out the timer or wait and grab them over a window or pallet. You'd be surprised how many survivors don't realise BT doesn't work on grabs.

It would be a good idea if BT was made directly to counter camping, but it isn't. BT is just meant to guarantee a safe hook rescue, camping or not. The 6 second timer could also be abused by leaving the range sporadically, and still gives no safety net for the rescuer.

BT activates no matter where the killer is. Instead of endurance it now shares health with the unhooker (so if the unhooker is injured and the unhooked person body blocks, the unhooker goes down.) This keeps the anti tunnel/camp mechanic while also removing the ability to abuse the perk.

What if BT always activated but it had a lengthy cooldown?
Bam, it's suddenly much more simple and personally the effect is strong enough, imho, to warrant having a cooldown.

I think it should just activate no matter what. If you hit them within 15 seconds you were probably pretty close to the hook anyways.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it being used to body block either, it’s a risky move and you might just end up getting tunneled for it. Or if it’s an obvious borrowed time play I usually see if I can wait it out.
If it’s being used to secure escapes at the endgame I don’t see a problem with that. The survivors need a way to escape if the killer did poorly throughout the match.

Before I opened the post, I thought this was gonna be a nerf and was about to go off because BT is not an issue at all. I must say, I think this is a good change to BT because killers like Freddy, Wraith, and Pig can easily avoid its effects.

Honestly I feel BT would be fair if it went of killer's proximity to the hook instead of TR. Like op mentioned, some killers can bypass it and it really sucks when I'm trying to save someone from Freddy and I'm asleep.
I ######### about DS+UB all the time on the forums but I don't have any issues with BT because it's for your teams sake and not yours. I remember when it applied to both people. That version sucked.

The only change bt needs is that it works based on distance, not in the terror radius. Freddy, Ghostface, meyers, insidious, and certain other perks encourage camping
