Maybe I'm getting old but I fell asleep while queuing up the other night and was woke up by the sound of the 5 second lobby timer thing when I finally found a game
No joke. Was too tired to play at that point so I closed out then went to bed and you know what that means? 3 other survivors who probably had the same 15+ minute queue time, got sent straight back to lobby.
I'm starting to get F13 vibes

Both as survivor and as killer the times get worse, a lot.
The matchmaking forces me to turn the cross play off unless I wanna find completely garbage survivors that I just destroy. If I play hag against them I simply destroy them AFAF.
So I have to turn off the cross play, to find the insanely good survivors

Survivor queues have gotten ever since crossplay was added due to the influx of console survivors compared to console killers, or so I heard.

I play in EU, and in the evenings, and I've always found survivor queues to be incredibly long compared to in the mornings (long enough to have time to make a basic meal often).
I suspect it's because in the evening there are more groups of friends who are able to play with each other, which pushes up the survivor queue times, but that's just my guess.
In fairness to the Devs, it's a difficult one to solve.

They are bad but it's been like this since I started playing a year ago. So I can't say it's any worse than it used to be for me.

It depends on when you play, I play survivor during midday and it's extremely short queues, meanwhile killer queue is long as hell. It's the opposite in the morning and at night.

They aren't getting worse, they have sucked for months.

Survivor queue times have always taken years but lately it seems like they've gotten 10x worse and I'm not sure if it's because matchmaking is broken atm or more killers are quitting/switching over to survivor.
Either way, I'm not suprised.

For me, they’ve been beginning to get better at night. Or maybe i’m just getting more patient. They used to feel like 10-15 minutes and now it’s more of 3-5

Oh my God they're horrendous for me. Maybe I'm just impatient but like I'm able to do my daily routine on 3 apps before I'm able to get into a match. Killer on the other hand it's fast but just not for me. I queued up with a few friends for a competition as killer and I was the last one to get into a lobby/match and we're all around the same rank. I had to wait maybe say like 3-4 for killer but my friends waited like less than a minute.

If just every fifth person would switch to killer when the survivor queues are long the problem would be solved.
Devs could give some bloodpoint multiplier (e.g 1.25x) in these cases to encourage playing the side which has few players.

Unless they do something drastic and nerf all or most killers across the board, wait times can't get any worse.

It seems that it changed since 4.5.0. With hitboxes issues survivors either quit the game or change to be killers. So i feel like right now there is a shortage of survivors more than killers.

During to the problems with desync in 4.5.0 patch, a lot of "survivor" players quited from the game for a moment or starting to play more on killers. For me, at the evening or night (RED rank by the way), I need to wait around 1-2 minutes but before this cursed patch It took longer (3-5+ minutes). For another period of time, It's almost instantly.
But we have an issue about "deathmatch" that makes people got dced from the lobby and they should to search a lobby again... If you have a lot of these errors in a row, the time between the first try to find a game and the start of the match takes A LOT longer (even if we compare to the time in 4.4.0 patch). The full time of waiting easily can be over 10 minutes.
