Whether you had an ah-ha moment or it was a gradual change over time, what opinions of yours have changed significantly?
My big one is that I used to think OoO was fine. Then for a while I thought "OK, it's super annoying, it could use a change." Now I don't think it even belongs in the game and needs a total rework. It's not healthy and it needs to go.

I guess you could say my opinion about killers have changed. I may be a killer main now, but back in the day I was a survivor main. And boy was I such a little #########.
I was you stereotypical annoying survivor. I'd bm and harass the killer for tunneling or using noed or something stupid like that. Until I started playing killer myself. Then I realized just how ######### annoying I was. I'm happy I've put those days behind me.

When I started playing the game, I still played both killer and survivor. Although I had not realized why killers camped sometimes (ok sometimes it was just to be mean for no reason) so I waited until the killer finished up and pre-typed "trash camper" and left. lol a few months later I saw that in-game, it could actually be the only option I have. I then watched videos on the topic and eventually was like well okay, I guess I was initially wrong. Now when I am camped, I just let out a sigh because even though I know it is strategy, it can still kinda suck. But I don't complain about it anymore and even support it.

I’m chasing the dragon so to say. I used to love DBD. I’m slowly losing interest but I keep trying to recapture that love. I haven’t played in a week or so and that’s unusual. So my opinion on the game itself has changed over time. I’m waiting to see if the new UI goes live before I say adieu and stop trying to hope to get that feeling back.
the OP post is right about OoO though. It detracts entirely from the game.

I used to think SWF was this super OP boogeyman and that gen rushing was a thing. Then I actually got good at the game.

Back when I played survivor only I thought BBQ was op. I’ve grown a lot as a player since then.

I was really bad as a survivor, but played really well as a killer. Therefore I thought playing survivor and escaping meant you where a god at the game.

I used to think, "Oh this Nancy will be a good sport." (Jaded!)

I have bad anxiety and used to avoid killer because I thought it would just make me straight up have a panic attacks. But then I tried it, and it turned out that playing killer is less stressful to me than playing survivor, lol.

I thought that the game would get much much better after BHVR was able to get away from Starbreeze :(

I used to think SWF was a good load off/fun time to have with friends, not take things too seriously, etc
Now I realize a lot of people rely on SWF to climb ranks that they otherwise wouldn't and it ruins the game entirely as it wasn't designed around SWF but solo que. Its a crutch system, the players actually think they're good, and if they did play solo, they'd have a harder time and likely quit the game.

Used to believe gen regression perks were necessary to win. They help, but a good Killer will often win by skill regardless of perks. I learned to diversify my builds and I've become a better, more confident player because of it.

I used to detest killers who ran NOED, until I learned like so many other complained-about aspects of the game it is the surv team's fault it even comes into play.

The one opinion I had that has completely changed is that Killers were OP and the game was killer sided.
After playing as a killer for a while I learned that survivors are far more powerful then they give themselves credit for.
Yes a good killer can stomp a team and a toxic one can annoy a team. but a survivor team can always toy with a killer if they choose, perks help with that as well as skill. The game is far from killer sided yet some survivor teams I've played on swear that it is at all times. I've had some really rough games and some really good ones.

My main opinion that's changed is that SWFs are overpowered. When I was a lower skill Killer, I would get rolled by them and get angry about it.
Now as a Rank 1 Killer, SWFs don't really scare me at all because they're way too altruistic and really vulnerable to being slugged because they group up more than solo players. Having voice chat doesn't matter when you play sub-optimally.

When I first started I thought tunnelling and camping was always wrong but now I know it completely depends on the situation and if it's a viable strat. I mean I still think if you're straight back on a solo queue baby dweet who went down in 5 secs at the start and no gens have been done yet there's no need for it. However it can be the best strat in certain situations like tunnelling if SWF are rushing gens ( just make sure you're tunnelling the weak one). Also camping against an overly altruistic team all desperate to rush in for the insta save is always the best option. Either give me a reason to leave or all stay here and roast some marshmallows on the campfire. 🔥🔥

I used to think running NOED and Franklin's wasn't funny. Now I know it is hilarious!

I used to think mikey was one of the best killers in dbd. I thought old Freddy could be competitive (ya no he was trash glad he's gone)
That and I believed the dev's would never nerf old ds on account of there slow as hell response to fixing its broken nonsense. That and they teased a fix that never happened because the dev's got cold feet the first time (second if you count the 25% wriggle change) they were thinking of changing it.
