Is Legion the Low Rank Killer?
I'm relatively inexperienced at this game. I bought Legion and Myers recently due to the suggestions of some very nice people on this forum, and I'm doing awkwardly well with him. Multiple 4k games in a row even when the matchmaking constantly pairs me with much higher ranked players.
I'm not trying to brag at all. Thing is, I have a lot of hours with Bubba and Clown, a bit with Oni, and I never do so well with them. It's much more hit and miss. Almost feels like Legion is carrying me right now, especially because they cause you to pip like crazy. I don't want to end up too high ranked for my actual skill level due to Legion making it so easy to pip. I even got my first double pip as killer with them.
I've always heard Legion was bad, so is there something that makes him much better at low ranks than other killers? Btw, I'm running BBQ, Sloppy, Discordance, and Pop. I don't have a whole lot of teachables.

Ranks aren't really skill, but more about how much you play. You could have all rank 1 survivors and they could be scrubs that should be at rank 5 or 8. Legion himself is a low tier killer rather than low rank. He is a weaker killer than the average Oni kind of killer.

What I would say about Legion is that he's typically considered lower tier, yes, but he's lower tier simply because, by nature of his power, his games tend to drag on longer than any other killer. He can spend a lot of time injuring and not downing or hooking people until the latter half of the game, so it gives the appearance that he's not good at killing. The higher tier Killers can end games very quickly compared to Legion so, being low tier in his case isn't bad, he's just different.

Legion is the high rank of the low ranks.

Any killer is a low rank killer to be honest. Clown with no perks and no add ons can win quite easily in green/yellow ranks.

He's one of, if not the worst killers in the game against actually decent survivors.
Ironically his kit makes him a noob stomper though for the inexperienced.

I was thinking this may be the case. I've played other games that have characters like this. They're not very good against experienced players, but the character has a certain niche that makes it very difficult for newer players to contest. Some fighting game characters come to mind that are like this.

You'll find a similar experience with Plague as well if you've tried her.

Legion isn't actually a low tier killer. Most people are just really bad at chasing without a power to help them
They are more mid tier. Outside of the terminator swf squad you always stand a chance of winning. Especially if you concidder pips to be a win

I was actually considering purchasing her just for Corrupt. Don't know if it's worth 7.99 for just a perk, though, even if it's a really good one.

Well Corrupt is alright but I wouldn't buy her just for the perk unless you actually want to play her as well. You could also just collect enough Iridescent Shards to buy her for free.

He's okay, in the end what makes him bad is that they have a lot of weird mechanics, like losing most of his power gauge with when hitting with a basic attack, and other awkward things. But you have to understand, he is one of a very small amount of killers that has a good early game, which is amazing. It's actually pretty easy to compare him with Myers.
Would you rather: a killer that has to lose a gen to become a normal killer, lose another gen or two to actually get a power
Or: a killer who has everyone injured right off the bat, effectively making him t3 myers in the first few minutes of a match
People also often hide while myers is in t3, but you can't really hide from a legion.
I'd say he's a low B or high C. That being said, he could use a rework since his power is pretty boring and poorly designed

I like the contrast you made between the two. I'm trying Myers for the first time here in a bit, and I'm already kind of nervous. One of the things I like about playing Legion is that after one hit, I know where everyone is and can beeline right for them. I don't know how I'll fare with a really slow starting Myers.

In my experience, Legion absolutely bodies anyone who doesn't know how they work... and they have a lot of weird quirks about them that good Legion players can use to their advantage. People Dead Harding when I'm still in Frenzy still makes me chuckle. However, once Survivors know what to do and not do against Legion, there's not a whole lot the Legion players can do to switch it up without certain perks.
Lets just say there's a reason why I've been running Trail of Torment on them. Partially it is to get surprise downs. Also, once I turn into budget Ghost Face, suddenly staying injured to deny Frenzy value looks like a much worse idea. I've seen other Legion players run Endfury for a similar reason, to get a really cheeky down without having to commit to a long, standard M1 chase.

Also an aspect lots of people don't point out that they are very strong at the m1 game.
They make zero noise and are small. This makes them perfect for mindgames
They can do mindgames that stompy foot demo and oni or clown having a heart attack everytime he vaults a window can only dream of
The only killer better at it are probably pig and ghostface as they can make themself even smaller by crouching

Legion is about as good as you are.

legion is dominant at low ranks (and even high ranks, cause "high ranks" in this game aren't #########. doesn't actually indicate skill level of players) because people don't really know what to do against him, when he's one of the most easily counterable killers, but only when you're better at the game.
first, people have no clue how he works. they're gonna hide against a legion who's recently stabbed someone in frenzy. they might even jump in lockers. they're also probably not going to split up, because they're bad. this is great for you, as you can easily chain hits.
people will often drop pallets against a legion when healthy, they'll drop pallets against a legion in frenzy, they'll drop pallets against a legion while injured, and even while in deep wound. the only time you ever wanna do this is if you KNOW you 100% have a stun on him, but that's it. low ranks don't know this, they just panic drop pallets.
then, they'll heal against legion. they'll mend, which takes 8-12 seconds, then do a full heal, which takes another 16 seconds, 32 with self care (which low ranks will use). that's, in total, a 24-44 second full heal. at low ranks, gens aren't getting done anyway. add on a time waste of 24-44 seconds, woof.
however, if they DON'T heal, players are really bad in chase. legion is great at getting injures, which means that you're going to be going against players who are bad at looping, AND they're a 1-shot cause they're injured. super fast chases, cause they're bad.
now, against good players, none of this ######### matters. they're gonna know when to use pallets, they're gonna know when to split up, they're not gonna bother healing and just split up and stick on gens, denying your time waste, and they're gonna do just fine in the chase because they're good at the game, they won't care that they're injured.

I’d say the opposite. Much like Wraith it’s ridiculously easy to pip with Legion meaning you’ll get to high rank faster. I’d say most killers you find in low ranks are the free and licensed killers.
