why is no one using ds?
everyone out there crying about ds being anti-fun and not fair perk, but everyone barely uses it. I usually play 2-3 man swf, and I'm forced to pick ds or either there is gonna be a no obsession game, which is not fun as you know. my point is, why don't you take ds if it's as overpowered as everyone is whining about it?

and, PLEASE, if you are solo q survivor, BRING DS IN YOUR GAMES, MAKE IT MORE FUN FOR EVERYONE!
3 -
I never run it because it's over powered and I don't need crutches to win on survivor.
That said there's always at least 2 survivors minimum every game running it.

No one uses DS.
Then says they use DS.
🤨

No one is running DS? I must see at least 2 people running it every time I play Killer.
15 -
Well, consider me lucky but i rarely get tunneled so it's not worth the perk slot in my case
0 -
No I don't need to
4 -
When im playing Killer at Red Ranks i always get a DS,but when i play survivor at Green ranks is never see Ds at all
3 -
I don't run it for two reasons:
- I use what I like, and this usually consists of no exhaustion or second chance perks.
- I don't have it. 🤷♀️
3 -
Other perks you can use besides DS if you just want an Obsession.
- Blood Pact
- For the People
- Mettle of Man
- Object of Obsession
- Sole Survivor

I almost never pick DS as survivor because I rarely get tunneled as I can hold my own in a chase unlike my teammates who go down all the time and really could use DS.
Also DS isn't OP in terms of 1-2 solos using it but when 4 good survivors all have it (god forbit SWF) at the same time potentially paired with unbreakables. Players like that force out gens using DS or other ways to waste killers time, weaponizing the perk. That's where it becomes extremely opressive, solos can't really reach that unless matchmaking somehow decides to put 4 good DS user into the same lobby.
Another reason is that red rank killers rarely hard tunnel someone, they got to the red ranks by piping often which requires many chases and multiple hooks on each survivor.

It feels like every game I don’t bring DS there’s no obsession and everyone gets tunnelled
0 -
I have it I just never succeeded the skill check.
0 -
When I play survivor if I don't want to bring ds I bring blood pact so there is at least an obsession in the match.
0 -
You say this as if "winning" on survivor is only ever determined by your own abilities. Unless you play SWF - then that explains it all.
But for us solo qs out there, DS is basically an insurance policy to make up for the mistakes of your teammates, not yourself.
3 -
I don't see it as often because the matchmaking is so awful, when i play solo I will play with rank 16's that will just have 2 perks but feels like negative 6 because they will hide for any reason.
0 -
I play almost entirely solo queue. The game is balanced around your teams mistakes.
I win the majority of my matches without running any of those second chance perks. That's with having potato teammates as you have to learn how to carry.
2 -
I don't know what rank you're playing at, but DS is very common in red ranks.
3 -
In solo Q there are much better perks to run, so DS is far from being op. Kindred, Bond, Better together and spine chill is my build to go because information is way stronger than a perk that i might use one time.
DS is overrated as ****

I play at red ranks and there isn't an obsession every other match, whether this is due to the MMR supposedly being active or people have just stopped using it, I don't know, but there are certainly fewer people using it in high rank games than there were a couple of months ago.
0 -
Can you send all these non DS users to my killer lobbies please. Much appreciated 😊
0 -
Tbh DS isn't that useful, I stopped using it like months ago and never look back, now I'm stuck with Resilience, otherwise everything feels so slow
0 -
If I need an obsession I'll be big brain and put on For The People or Blood Pact (instead of bond particularly) instead of trying to waste a 1/4 of my build on a perk that activates for 60 seconds twice per match (if I'm unlucky), with even less chance of being used, I don't get downed in that time unless I'm being farmed anyway, I'd much rather have a useful perk that can read auras or instantly heal.
The only fun DS changes is it makes the killers game less enjoyable because someone thought they'd bait a grab and force them to eat a five second stun...

How does it make the game more fun for everyone?
0 -
I think it’s mainly the killers that are a magnet to the stun that have an issue with it.
I also hardly ever see it. Dare I say I see more people running self care, than DS. lol 😂

I hate DS as killer, so I don't run it as survivor
0 -
Gotta agree, in my Survivor games I don't see DS as often in my Solo Queues. I personally don't run it though because I prefer chest builds, and with how weird matchmaking has been, the chances of me actually needing it because the killer trying to get me out of the game ASAP is pretty low.
0 -
Because a killer is less likely to mindlessly tunnel when there's an obsession in the match?
1 -
How does that make the game more fun for me as a Killer?
0 -
I see DS as a Killer in at least 2/3 of my games.
0 -
rank 1, both survivor and killer since 60 hours into the game
0 -
no one gets tunneled cuz there is not obsession?
0 -
exactly this. this is why I started the discussion
0 -
How does that make the game more fun for me as a Killer?
1 -
Ah yes, that little-seen edge case perk, Decisive Strike.
0 -
Not sure if serious, in the last year I can probably count the number of times I didn't see DS on one hand.
DS is like BBQ and Ruin. It is all over the place. It's arguably more common than either of those two perks, mostly because there are 4x more survivors per match than killers.
0 -
- Because they don't have it (you have to purchase with real money to get it or pray for the once in a blue moon lottery gives you the perk)
- survivors run a specific build for fun and DS gets in the way
- guilt?
0 -
LOL at being both rank 1 killer and survivor in 60 hours. It's not that hard to get to Rank 1 on each side, but takes time and doing so on both sides in just 60 hours is nonsense.
Come up with a better story everything coming out of your mouth is BS.
0 -
Because you're being matched with rank 20s.
0 -
I have more than 1k now btw, not like bragging or anything
0 -
not as a killer, talking about survivor. usually it ends like guy gets tunneled out the game at 4 gens and it's basically unwinnable anymore if the killer is at least remotely decent
0 -
I'm not sure if using a perk in the game that is allowed should make you guilty
0 -
you can read my point upper in the topic. I'm just saying that forcing tunneling/being scared to save without ds cuz tunneling is not fun for anyone except the killer that sees no obsession
0 -
usually it's rank 1-3 players in my lobby, I rarely get someone with 10+
0 -
I feel the same. The only time I put on DS is if a killer tunneled me to death a few times. That doesn't happen often to me.
Same. I don't know what range the OP is playing in but I see DS literally every game.
1 -
The original comment was "everyone". The Killer counts as everyone. I know this really really hard for Survivor mains to understand but the Killer is a player as well, and not just an AI bot.
1 -
i don't disagree but some players feel guilty about what DS can potentially do.
0 -
It's super weird, when I'm a killer I swear half of the survivors use DS but when I play solo it honestly only gets used like once or twice out of every 30 or 40 games (I don't use it btw).
0 -
I’ve seen DS in maybe 10% of my games today. Tops.
0 -
I don't see why it's so complained about, I play about equal killer and survivor, and I don't find that respecting it as killer is super hard. I dont' ever run it as a surv cause I'm either in god mode looping mindset and I don't need it anyway or I'm a steaming pile of trash and after I use it, I just get followed and downed again anyways.
0 -
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I almost never run D strike because I rarely get to use it. I run away and heal etc unlike many players that force it by jumping in a locker or holding onto a gen or something silly like that. Even facing 4 strikes I almost never eat them unless I grab by accident instead of a smack or got stomped and it was a guaranteed exit gate escape situation.
The way the majority of people force it after their first hook practically promises the killer will tunnel you to death if they want because now they easily can.
Sure I get tunneled off hook once in awhile with an unsafe no BT unhooking but honestly I don’t know what killers people are facing because being tunneled to death is not as common as people make it sound. I’m in red ranks but I don’t know if that makes a difference and yes having an obsession in the match can make a killer consider DStrike and leave you slugged but if you’re not the type of player that forces DS with lockers or rushing the killer and other nonsense like that then I doubt you’re using it in most of your matches.
