I still don't give up! Jason Voorhees is still an option for DBD.
Well, recently they clarified that the new demand from the producer towards the studios that produced the F13th films does not affect the entire franchise, it only affects the 2009 remake film. Also this new demand is not linked to the current demand, which the true owner of the rights of Jason will be Victor Miller, the original writer, since he is winning the lawsuit and the appeal. Most likely, if the writer wins and the writer-producer lawsuit ends, we'll see Jason at least in 2022. Also if there is no success, there is always plan B, Never Hike Alone can also be an option if the developers know of its existence.
I take it back, The trapper is not Jason damn it!

Among DBDs exquisite entourage, there will always be an empty seat at the top of the pantheon for one of our greatest heroes.

Having Jason in the game would no doubt be cool. However I find it hard to think of a power that would make him unique amongst the other killers.

^ this.
I could not really imagine a Power which would fit and is fun and decently strong.

The only thing I could think of, assuming he gets his own map, is for him to be able to appear out of lockers and out of water, similar to Freddy's teleport power. If we take F13 the Game into account he has a habit of teleporting right in front of or behind you. But that would be some serious overkill and be hell for survivors. Imagine you're working a gen in a loop then you hear his famous sound queue and BOOM, he pops out of the locker next to you. Is that a great power? Probably not. However it would be a lot of fun and incite a bunch of jump scares.

The thing is, teleporting to Objects is already done by Freddy. And Jason, being a licensed Character, should probably be more unique and especially not compareable to another licensed Character. I can totally imagine that the License Holders would not like to hear that Jason is like Freddy in DBD.
But, this is all speculation, I guess, when Jason comes to DBD one day, the Devs will have a suitable power for him.

IF he comes. Isn't there way to much legal BS right now dealing with him and his mother? I feel that IF he were to come to DBD there would be many many more licensed killers before he ever comes. And of course with more killers means narrowing down what kind of power Jason could actually have. I feel like if they can't bring him in soon he'll never end up here.

Most people don't care about his power. We have every other major horror icon in this game. Jason is the last one we need and I wouldn't care if his power was a carbon copy of someone else as long as he is in the game.

I'm sure they'd whip up something real quick, only to have it reworked months after release.

The 2009 movie? Why would anyone want to associate themselves with that trainwreck?

Well, at first I asked myself as a Civil Servant Michael since the only thing I ever saw of him was his immortality, but when I realized that he always stalked Laurie or some fool in a movie who was so brave to speak to him while he stalked, that was definitely his power. With Jason it is most likely his Rage, he goes through walls and doors when he's angry, he also teleports but I don't know if it's canon or not, he's also stealthy so he can be a Michael Myers but improved that dares breakable objects becomes undetectable or teleports.

Soooo, Michael x Oni x Freddy? I don't know. I just don't see him having his own, unique power.

If they bring Jason, i will main him forever.

As I understand it, our man, Larry Zerner, posted an update yesterday that a judge died in the current case and today in the afternoon, he gave us information about a new lawsuit that may not be linked, it turns out that the producer sued. to the companies that once produced the Friday the 13th movies, because according to him, they were taking advantage of the minimal profits that the 2009 remake brought. This suggests that the guy is a senile greedy who wants to take money to the tomb. According to Larry, if the current case is won by Miller, the original writer. Most likely, the franchise is saved at some point if the current lawsuit is resolved first, since the new one may not be linked.

The developers are ingenious to give it a unique power or something never seen as happened with the twins. just by having him as a character or as a legendary trapper skin, I'm satisfied.

His power could be something like this :
He may have cache of weapons around the map (like pools of devotion), when he search them, he can randomly pick 1 of the 2-3 randoms special weapon in it (like a spear he can throw, a gold club that hit further than his basic machete, a big hammer that one hit down, etc). Only 1 of each in each weapon's cache.
When he hit someone with a special weapons, he charge a "fury" meter, when the "fury" bar is charged, he become an unstoppable killer, he can break dropped pallets/breakable walls instantly by walking through them and vault windows faster for a certain amount of time. He could be slightly faster once a chase begin too (like 117-120% instead of 115%) or build Bloodlust faster.
Also, if a survivor on his 3rd hook is close to a weapon's cache, he could have a special quick mori (using 1 of the 2-3 weapons in different ways or killing with bare hands/smashing him against the weapon's cache).
